That sounds good, maybe if we could click into it to get to the category itself (the list of categorized threads, I mean) as well.

Noted. I think I'm just suffering from nostalgia of the good ol' days of PF, before it got all adverty and then broken.

Maybe there could be two front pages, one displaying all threads and another that has categorized sub-forums. Philosophers could switch between these based on preference.

This will be accomplished by global warming raising sea levels to flood major centres of population and most of the arable land

Could start making more rock to counter this: http://www.sciencealert.com/scientists-are-again-turning-co2-into-solid-rock-to-fight-climate-change

supplemented by repressive government and war.

Not sure science can help with this though...

It's not really much of an attack, more just highlighting this stuff is going on and I've no qualms with this kind of media propagating itself - there's a lot worse out there.

Who or what would it be propaganda or a polemic against though?
  • New Adam Curtis Documentary: HyperNormalisation
    I watched it. Pretty bleak.

Pretty bleak and enlightening at the same time.

I'm considering joining the Labour party and backing Corbyn if there is another leadership election.

So yeah in response to the maitreya analogy I would follow.
  • A good and decent man
I think some people believe he wouldn't make a competent PM, and would push through policies which would put hard-left political dogma in front of common sense, and then bankrupt the country again.

I don't like referendums, and i don't respect them or regard them as democratic.

What would be a good alternative?

Can someone hurry up and invent Soma already? Or make a virtual 'Great Britain' on Oculus that's idealistic enough for leave types.

  • Trump vs. Clinton vs. ???
Anyone read that email by Louis CK back in March?

"Trump has nothing to do with politics or ideology. He has to do with himself. And really I don’t mean to insult anyone. Except Trump. I mean to insult him very much. And really I’m not saying he’s evil or a monster. In fact I don’t think Hitler was. The problem with saying that guys like that are monsters is that we don’t see them coming when they turn out to be human, which they all are. Everyone is. Trump is a messed up guy with a hole in his heart that he tries to fill with money and attention. He can never ever have enough of either and he’ll never stop trying. He’s sick. Which makes him really really interesting. And he pulls you towards him which somehow feels good or fascinatingly bad. He’s not a monster. He’s a sad man. But all this makes him horribly dangerous if he becomes president. Give him another TV show. Let him pay to put his name on buildings. But please stop voting for him."

    http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/louis-c-k-donald-trump-insane-bigot-dangerous-1201723679/

I missed this at the time but having read it now it reeks of sobering and depressing truisms.
