• What is logic? How is it that it is so useful?
am I not correct by saying a lot of logic is for clarity?

Getting through the substance of a matter is like decoding logic.

    Logic is like mind fodder.

In my earlier post I mentioned, " human driving a car, when functioning, is logic when simplified. Rather than reducing it to the humans cause, it is neutral of cause and effect, as the matter is to be interpreted logically as man moving car, not scientifically but for thought.
  • Evolutionary Psychology and the Computer Mind
Mind alone is a computer more so than one that's man made - the two are symbolic of each other.

When we consider the whole vessel, then your case would stand, but when considering mind only, it is a computer. Maybe not subjectively.
  • Evolutionary Psychology and the Computer Mind
I agree with a computer being observer -dependant otherwise it is that perception of a shiny box, rather than a computer.

You would say mind is computer-relative, or, also a computer - what does mind does is not just compute. It's use however can be summed up as computation.

Because you are in control of the mind doesn't matter, that's more a matter of the vessel, not mind only.
  • Confusion on religions
Everyone believes. Used in religion, it's a reference to having devotion to a cause. He believes in God, he is devoted to God - notice the connotation.

Belief, like a pool of memories you didn't want to lose!
  • Art highlights the elitism of opinion
Art is a painting, a drawing, music, shapes - is there even compulsory art?

Again, I don't think that the word is proper language.

Art is not just man made, all animals have their arts, and as I've suggested our universe may have compulsory art.

I think it would be better designed as creativity grading of subject. So you would say to a painting, because you enjoyed it or because it was skillful, that is art; it gives people the right to say that it's is not art but an attempt.

That forever essence about life, that it's seemingly endless like a lens unto the unknown. That's an artistic process; a special art.

We have looks, we have beauty, perhaps this is more evidence that the universe is somewhat artistic.

It's not toon, per say, it's it's art.

    I could go on...
  • What is logic? How is it that it is so useful?
Logic is the simplicity of functionality; waste energy, per sey.

How a human can command a vehicle. Instead of reducing it to each tiny detail, the logic is the simplified event of a human commanding vehicle. It makes sense.

The universe is deeply seated in Logic, when trying to transfer the analogy to the logic behind day, it won't seem fitting because days are not technology, but natural logic.
  • Art highlights the elitism of opinion
If you try defining art, you end up with paraphernalia.
  • Does “spirit” exist? If so, what is it?
    Yes it does.

A brain doesn't function without the heartbeat.

When the heart and brain are *linked*, what is that phenomenon?

Mind and body are created out of the spirit of heart and brain! Soul, is different from spirit, soul is something the mind and body can create.

The question is if heart and mind are *necessary* for spirit, and what forms of spirit might exist.

A hell for a spirit may be that you have no free will but you are this moving thing that crawls on elbows and kneecaps.
  • Euthanasia
In essence it is just displeasing sex, isn't more so than traumatic memories, and these memories can be made scarce if not physically scarring or repeated to cause more of a 'shellshock'.

Are you saying the shock of rape is so bad it can warrant suicide?

If you think stigma attached to the event is causing trouble then perhaps people are more the problem.
  • Euthanasia
Pain, like weight, is rooted in logic.

Are you sure you don't live too easily?
Are you sure some people aren't just weak?

Not referencing victim in the OP here but the rape case likely didn't warrant suicide, a doctor's weakness for allowing it.
  • Euthanasia
no it honestly is. Pain is rooted in logic.
  • Euthanasia

People's pain tolerances vary but let's say I dropped a feather on your head, does it warrant assisted suicide?
  • Euthanasia
    No it's not.

What's bad is if that person was marked physically or raped repetitively.

You'll receive more stigma for mental illness.

People saying "schizo" and spook word "nonsense" is likely to cause more stress than rape; and people say these things freely.

If it's about the stigma, no it's not bad enough for suicide. If it's about traumatic memories, yes, they are painful, but it doesn't warrant suicide.

Rape is not a severe pain unless repetitive (like from a parent to a child) and physically marking.

If I was raped and the next day I was completely clean and physically healthy, I could live with it. What you're suggesting is that the mental pain of rape is severe enough for assisted suicide.
  • Euthanasia
Rape is not that bad of a pain!

She shouldn't have been able to do that...

It's not like she was burning to death and a vivid memory is not that big of a burden.

What example does that set to all other rape cases?

    Kill yourself!
  • Harmony of Ego
One populations victory may be the disharmony of another; war is a means to cause chaos in exchange for harmony.

There is harmony in war, it's just very in-depth.

There tends to be harmony in animal communities who do not, what you suggest, compete but rather try to be ordinated.

Yes, it is co-existing; I had gathered it's about harmony, but after what you said, I'll say it's both harmony and chaos, adding, it's also how you handle chaos.

However, bundled with this is that great harmony can come after chaos.

We are chaos harmonic, and we have controlled natural chaos somewhat so it's conscious.

You don't misunderstand 7 billion people, you can live with the imagination of an entire universes scale.
  • Learning
You can skip education and be a great philosopher, through observation and free help (wikipedia, google, books).

You, automatically, wouldn't know-how to communicate to academic standards (which are, in the modern era, low standards).

The minds given tool is sense, and with sense alone you can learn anything...
  • Art highlights the elitism of opinion
Art is a term used to merit a phenomenon.

You may look at this response and say, "that's art"; whether it deserves merit is down to logic.

How much effort? How skillful? Controversial?

Some items logically deserve bigger praise because expert judgement can deem it.

There is no elitism in raw judgement of art; some are better than others.

However, the way art is judged in the modern era may highlight elitism of opinion.
  • We're conscious beings. Why?
Free will is a spook subject because you can live liberated or imprisoned. A measure of the free nature of will is surely, never one or the other, but some increment of both.

If I lose myself in thought, is it free will, or not because the process is automatic? Part of it is free, but part of it is that I can be trapped in thought process.

Free will regarding the experience doesn't at all reflect the activity of the experience, which is that will is opposed and free at times, and the reason it is this way is physical. Better called will than free will.
  • Reading the mind of God
You've figured out an alternate way of living that involves the mass slaughter of animals.

You meddled with the greater scheme of things which would have been successful otherwise - you exempt yourself from this scheme\ using the alternative.

The alternative you used was evil, it was malificent where life's objectives, and not one/individual's feelings, is concerned.

Imagine being presented with the question about the animals you slaughtered. If all you can say is 'that's nature' then why not expect the same? You need more of an excuse.

You wouldn't like to be an animal who was slaughtered in an alternate farming scheme, and can sense this now!

It is wasteful of a hot prospect Earth and animal spawn, and can sense this now!

You are evil, and probably will be punished.
  • On Good and Evil
Yes you can be evil. For example, over consumption of animals is evil because the toll on life that you would admit to not wanting to experience yourself, and because that's present to the senses (the toll), and because of massively consuming them, it is evil.

You, animal slaughterer, from the third person have wasted good animals over the course of many years. Therefore, you are evil.

So what is evil? Evil is, regarding the Status Quo, what was done wrong; Earth life is not for your pleasure, as you can see lots of other things exist, so when eating a burger, that's potentially wrong, based on principles such as: quality of existence, quantity of pain. If you offer poor quality of life, should you receive the same treatment?

Earth would have flourished on its own better than with us, our world is impacted by evil. What is evil, therefore, it is stupidity regarding the greater scheme of things.
  • Is there a more complete scientific model than Anaximander's?
I agree with the original post.

We have Tornadoes, Volcanoes, Earthquakes and Tidal Waves, which are elemental chaos. You might say the Climate is elemental harmony but obviously on a massive scale!
  • You've got to be kidding me... right?
I propose we create an emergency movement.

We'll live in massive free energy domes, even with computer rooms powered by wind.

We'll demolish towns and replace with plantations, placing all waste in sealed, deep pockets underground.

We'll opt for green energy alternatives, properly moderate our intake and output.

This is the only way to a healthy future!
  • Cannibalism
    Ecosystem would deteriorate human wise.
  • Art highlights the elitism of opinion
I would consider it lack of definition, or claiming something is good, even godly for sensory property.
  • Art highlights the elitism of opinion
    You shouldn't define art.

Art goes undefined like it's nature, or it is a signifier of something good.

Is smell art? Yes. Is the smell of strawberry good art? How? With rhythmic body movement and emotion cycles.
  • My "nihilism"
    It's a ugly world.

It is not meaningless per sey, but the hands are dealt unevenly.

The Sun's yellow is meaning, search for meaning therefore, it's not just a statement, but more of a logos.
  • Truth and consequences

Politics is tricky around life and therefore can't be strictly moderated. Um.. His war stance with Iran, anti immigration policies, his control and enhancement of budget. I guess highlight me in the Trump thread if you want to talk.
  • Reading the mind of God

Then you're saying God was the first species and it moderates the later species; since when did the child not have greater potential? This is improbable. It's likely there was the first event, and it came in multiples, or multiple species were born, perhaps of the forces which govern afterlife.
  • Adverse Childhood Experiences.
I have had a very dreamy childhood which became more strange in my adulthood.

In my spare time I acquired a lot of knowledge - through a combination of observation and the man-made help.

At 16 I began to have a permanent hallucination that is still present at 27, and had great interest in imagery.

I would stimulate my mind with imagery I found using man-made help.

The hallucination reacted after long periods of imagery reading - it would have epic events; it had a four major events, and during the time inbetween there were thousands of minor events plus all standard observation.

The hallucination is like a machine of lines and currents that grows, learns and broadcasts imagery as well as dream enhancement(I probably know the most about dreaming).

It is like an interactive shell that feeds from waste energy and is hyper during sleeps healing energy; I have learned a lot studying it's presence over 11 years.
  • Truth and consequences
No, you're not, because it's a tricky process; and your wits are likely not strenuous enough to do any better.

Politics is strict on any president, he/she has to make crucial decisions in short time periods, we can't expect perfection.

Trumps collusion with Russia should be forgiven as beyond that his politics was good.
  • Reading the mind of God
If you believe God in the realistic sense, please throw away the bible and unname God so that we can define creator scientifically, or try.

I imagine there was the original species or species selection; this is the only realistic God I believe in.

The universe probably happened after a Planck Length of other events, a creator type species may be just one of many in big existential conundrum.

Yes there may be systems like heaven and hell - it seems logical - but God is outweighed by science!
  • Turing Test and Free Will
There is no 'character creation screen', my baby was determined by my Father and Mother.

I do not have free will being here, however, here, I do have an amount of free will.
  • My "nihilism"
There is meaning and meaningless; some things mean something to us from external stimuli, some meanings are our own input, and vice versa. Why not attribute meaning to the Sun for it's benefits to your body? Did it not instantly mean anything to you?I

I don't see how life is meaningless makes any sense! Life's full of meanings; although we can experience meaninglessness, it's unwise to think all of life is meaningless.
  • What will Mueller discover?
Trump is guilty but I think he should be pardoned for a small crime!
  • We're conscious beings. Why?
Out of interests of whatever created the universe (which could have been early/more advanced consciousness?) and any potential conscious peers.

Why it would come into existence from nothing may be because it's possible to experience sense data at a certain level of environments, and environments manifest in the deepest times.

A system where you are rewarded or punished predicts the outcome of babies and injects consciousness.

Consciousness is hardly strange, but the universe may confuse you having so many experiences.

Consciousness is the exoplanets feat, but it shows the potential of the universe, so may outdate this universe.

I suppose it comes into existence naturally, because it's such a useful and productive experience.
