• What is the most utopian society possible?
    @8livesleft
    I am not pretty sure, if its matter, whether its changing or not. But, actually, I think that we are in the point, where is good to say what we really what to find - social utopia, economic utopia? I think, that you can have utopian life, if there is nobody trying to convice you, to actually do something with you against your own opinion or without your permission.
  • What is the most utopian society possible?
    Well, with the fact, that there are too many people, the Utopia is becoming more and more real. I will use
    The ultimate goal would be to enhance everyone's sense of well-being
    @8livesleft
    to continue - well-being means, at least from my point of view - doing whatever they want as long as it dont act toward somebody else without their own permission - for example, you cant make me believe your god, you cannot punish me for not believing what you believe.
    If you want just play chess for a whole day, then, if society lets you play chess for a whole day, you live in utopia. Living in society means voluntarily loose some of your freedom. If society makes your "loose" less problematic, for example if you have to work for, for example (due to massive amount of people in world), four hours a day, then its so small price for having your own heaven.
    We are not far from utopia, but there are still forces not allowing us to live it :)) At least I think :))
  • Philosophical Vexillology
    Well, I always considered the flags as "movable" symbols of nations. Unfortunately, I realised, that many lies and bad things are happening because of "blind following of flags". Thieves, liars, etc., are standing in front of flags, believing, that bad deeds they are doing, are doing for their flags, for their countries. Sometimes, I assume, flags are used as some explanation (sadly, mostly excuses) of bad doings.
  • Is paying for a legal degree by prostitution ethical?

    Alora. Yes, I agree with you. But, if you want to take it as fundamental (I hope I used the right word - sorry, I am not english-native speaking), it doesn´t matter for paying something how you get the money. You have something to pay, you pay it. But, the reasons, the options, the methods of earning these money are questions of a morality or ethics.
  • Is paying for a legal degree by prostitution ethical?
    Hi everyone
    Well...
    A student asked if I'd pay her for virtual sex to raise money for her law degree. Is that ethical, do you think?
    @ernestm

    Does it really matter? She gets the money for the degree. Nobody from university will ever ask her, where she gets her money. Well, there is interesting point, that she needs to use her body to "make her brain better".
    The ethical question, I suppose, is question of a student for her teacher. Another one, if she agree with "selling her body" for a diploma. Some kind of machiavellism, I suppose.
