  • Why are we here?
    ↪wanderingmind
    Interesting perception :)
  • Dialectic of Enlightenment - Introduction and The Concept of Enlightenment
When you transcend, you enlighten :)
  • Do we use concepts to control our own madness?
It is all about taming the monster within each of us.
  • Will people ever be so stupid / smart as to choose an irreversible immortality?
Yes. It is all about conditioning and perceptions created around it.
  • I'm afraid of losing life
    ↪I-wonder
Did you know when you were a kid that you would come to this forum and type out what you have? Irony, the only constant thing in the universe is change. Accept it or not is a choice only you have.
  • I'm afraid of losing life
    ↪I-wonder
It is only your consciousness (aka soul) that still lives on.
  • I'm afraid of losing life
    ↪A Seagull
    Very well said.
  • Contradictions in the universe.
The universe is perfect. The paradox is a perception of our own limited mind :)
  • Does philosophy make progress? If so, how?
    ↪Pfhorrest
The simplest form of achieving happiness is to not argue with fools :)
  • Does every thing have an effect on something else?
    ↪Daniel
let's say that you see a pastry in a cake shop. If eat, it affects you, the thing you are eating, the possibilities of it being eaten by someone else or just decaying. In all cases, it is being affected. Hope it was not too confusing ;P
  • Does every thing have an effect on something else?
    ↪Daniel
Existence is just existence and not dependent on interaction. Whether there is interaction or not, everything still affects everything.
  • On luck & being fortunate/unfortunate, as well as concepts such as fate, destiny, & random chances
According to me LUCK is an acronym for Living Under Correct Knowledge. Once you start investing in your self, you invariable start getting lucky ;)
  • Perfection: Is it possible?
Perfection is everything the way it is. It becomes subjective when we are trying to look at things through our own lens of perception.
  • What country is best for philosophers?
All. It is only that certain countries are very well versed with marketing and hence it seems that those countries have the best philosophers. If Einstein was born in Nairobi, we would have never known about him.
  • Does every thing have an effect on something else?
Everything affects everything. Scientifically, spiritually, logically and theoretically.
  • Is the knowledge of good and evil, good or evil?
Knowledge is useless unless you act on it. Also, good and evil is just one's conditioning. Something that is good is evil to another. So in a nutshell, perceptions are reality.
  • What is more oppressive: a mental prison or a physical one?
Mental prison. You may be physically restrained but you can travel the universe with an out of body experience. This is what the sages do.
  • Conflict between Freedom and Purpose
If you got your purpose right, you will find the freedom to execute. It is not about having resources, it is all about being resourceful.
  • Why are we here?
It is a journey to reach to our source. We are just visiting this plane on our journey. It is like a level in a video game. We need to transcend to move to the next level.
  • Does philosophy make progress? If so, how?
Philosophy is like the sail for a boat. Without the set of the sail or philosophy of life, we would just be floating around.
