• The Origin of the First Living Cell with or without Evolution?

I take your point, however much proof shows that the universe can't be infinite.
I don’t believe it is possible for something to come from nothing and so everything that exist now, has always existed in some form.Present awareness
I agree and this fits with the big bang, as one main theory is that quantum fluctuations split no energy into equal ammounts of positive and negative energy, just like how 0=10+(-10).
Some of this energy then gets converted into mass (E=MC2).
Basically, you don't need to say it like nothing=somethimg, you could say nothing=nothing or something=something, it all means essentially the same thing.

Please, anyone correct me if I have got the science wrong here, I am by no means an expert.

    Care to elaborate?
  • The problem of evil

Well I believe them a wholely accurate explanation of the problem of evil.
  • Beautiful Things

Yes that's one of the pictures, thank you!
  • Before the big bang?
Then I would say that there is definitely nothing wrong with you, you're just perhaps...uncommon, and believe me, that is nothing but good! I say uncommon as opposed to unusual as there are definitely others who feel the same.
  • Before the big bang?

I wouldn't say a mystery, so much as not all clear. We know much about most aspects of the big bang, we just don't know the details.
  • Before the big bang?

I know I'm not who you're asking, but if you don't mind, I would like to answer.
    I personally would say:
NO! There is absolutely nothing wrong with you!

    Two types of people are-
    1. Curious people who always want to know the answer to everything. These tend to be academics and scientists-I am one of these people.
    2. People who...let me put this bluntly...just couldn't care. These people, tend to be more creative, but by no means always.

I don't know if you are either of these people or completely different from both, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with you in any case!

Would you describe yourself more as academic or creative?

They don't because they can't. Creationism (or "Intelligent Design") are just woo-of-the-gaps / appeals to ignorance fairytales religious theists like to tell themselves to help them sleep with lights off on stormy nights.180 Proof

Thank you, this is exactly what I thought and very helpful!

  • The Origin of the First Living Cell with or without Evolution?

I'm sorry but are you trying to argue that life predates the the big bang?

In fact it feels like you're saying that the universe outdates the big bang??

I must explain that nothing outdates the big bang as it is the first event in any history, present or future.

Carbon based life forms, as you can tell from the name, evolve from carbon, which was only created after the big bang.
  • If my bird lays an egg in your garden, who does that egg belong to?

If my bird lays an egg in your garden, who does it belong to?Franz Liszt

As many have said, I believe this comes down to law, however as you touched on-

If I give birth in your house, does the baby belong to you?Franz Liszt

The thing is, I believe the difference is that there are four factors in the first example-you, the bird, the egg and I-but in the second example-you, the baby and I.
So I would of course argue that the baby is yours, as would almost anyone else, however that's not what's being asked in the first question. In the first point, the question is of whether it belongs to you or I, but to build on @0 thru 9

The egg belongs to neither you nor me. The egg belongs to the bird. (duh... lol).0 thru 9

Of course, while I believe wholely in animal rights, as law goes, the egg does not belong to the bird, rendering these two arguments unparallel, however if you were to say "If my underaged daughter of whom I still have responsibility gives birth in your house, who does the baby belong to?"
Of course, I would still say me until my daughter is of age, and so, even if it is not the case by law, I would say in any modern, civilised society, the egg should belong to the bird, but if not, then you.
  • The problem of evil

So why create us sick and then command us to be well?180 Proof

Perhaps I misunderstood this response, if so I apologise, and please let me know, but if not allow me to continue. Surely an omniscient, omnibenevolent God would never create a world that would lead to evil, as the omniscient he/she knows that the world would lead to evil, and the omnibenevolent he/she wouldn't allow a world where good people suffer at the hands of bad people without being able to stop it him/herself.
  • The problem of evil

My apologies @tim wood, however I these are not my words but quoted from the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.
  • The problem of evil

Irenaeus stated that God made humans imperfect and is therefore partly responsible for the existence of evil.Franz Liszt

Doesn't this whole quotation reject the theistic ideology that God created humans in his image. This would surely suggest that, if indeed God is perfect, we must be perfect. Having said this, I don't see to what extent this ideology stretches, as if God were real, that would thus render us, omniscient, omnipotent, omnibenevolent, etc.
