    Have a problem that you can't solve on your own? Just post your problem here in this thread and wait until someone provides a solution to that problem. Please make sure that the problem is specific and manageable so that someone on this forum, with enough knowledge, could solve it in principle.

    I'll start.

    I have a problem: I need to get rid of a crazy "friend".

    I met this person who I thought was very nice, and indeed he has a nice side. When I first met him I didn't know that this person is really rotten person on the inside. At first when he talks to you, he will mention very nice things about you. As you get to know him he'll start complaining about everyone and everything. He'll say really nasty things about people, constantly judging them. Everyone is bad, everyone is stupid, etc.. Worst of all, he never shuts up. He'll constantly talk about things you don't care about. I really am repulsed by his company. For some reason he thinks we're best friends. He wants to hang out with me and spend as much time as he can.

    Further information: We go to the same place that I have to go, and there's no avoiding him. He lives near me. I don't want any enemies.

    Introduce your friend to S. S knows all about dealing with obnoxious people.
    Start walking around in one of those bright green or yellow t-shirts with his picture on the front and back and bright text that says "Property of Florida State Mental Health Detainment Center". That should make him think twice about hanging out with you.

    Now I too have a problem, I need a certain amount of money to pay for some very important things. But I wont be able to pay it back for a couple of years.
    Any offers.

    Great idea! Hey, @S, how do you fancy coming to New York City and help me deal with my obnoxious friend? All expenses paid, of course.

    I have been contemplating the validity of some traditional medicines used as a steam bath within the current times. I have looked at some of what I could find on potential interleukin response however do not have the correct scientific knowledge to truly know what to look at without extensive research. So, bearing in mind health concerns (i.e. pregnancy, liver conditions etc..)
    Comments regarding the following:
    Bay leaves
    Cinnamon
    Tree onion (A c var proliferum)
    Barberries

    Mexican oregano

    @Wheatley

    You could always start acting like your "friend" to see what he thinks of his own behavior. Persistently ask for money.

    @Sir2u

    You can try asking Brittany Spears (and her network) for a grant. Make a list of rich people and start asking.

    @Fluke

    It's all about placebo, so pick something that you know to be benign and believe that it works without letting yourself know its a placebo! Grate fresh horseradish in the bath (that seems like an unusual experiment) and tell us what happens.

    Localised language, hadn't really considered beyond a pot and a towel though looking for that many herbs could be considered something to do for some people these days and a bath full of plants has a certain textural entertainment value. The placebo effect can have great value in and of itself. Horseradish is something I would rather eat than bathe in personally though I might be tempted to try to use it to clear the nose sometime.

    Are you sure you don't want him to be around you? No ambivalence here? Then just be firm, direct, and clear - and as kind as you can be, although kindness sometimes doesn't work. And then put your money where your mouth is. And there's a human element to this; if he's impinging on your perfection, then you might have to be a little more human to deal with him.

    I’m thinking about buying a computer, it might be bad for my mental health in terms of staying indoors and not exercising as much. The upsides are that during this quarantine time I’ll be able to talk with friends and play online games, increasing my socialising and it could be great for my mental health. It’s also pretty costly and I don’t have a solid income at the moment. It will last for many years into the future though.

    Any opinions for what I should do?

    True but unfortunately Michael wasn't able to save his home from a fire. It burnt down due to a stuffed up chimney. The chimney worker that the Bank's family used died from lung cancer and was unable to clean the chimney in Michael's home. The Chimney was left unclean for many years until said fire.

    You've strayed from the Poppins orthodoxy (the facts of this fiction). You're gonna have to provide evidence for your claims.

    I find this insulting. My reading of Mary Poppins is what was taught to me growing up by the elders. I have deep faith and convictions about Mary Poppins. The elders explained to me that all other readings of Mary Poppins are from false profits and exist as insults to the sacred words of Pamela Lyndon Travers. The devil is indeed behind this. Frankly, the elders ought to banish you from the church. You wait until the Curch of Poppins hears about this!

    You've absolutely cracked Wheatley. Mary Poppins is a fictional character in a film (with a crappy sequel). To my knowledge there is no cult behind it. I was merely commenting on the actual content of the sequel.

    The elders told me not to listen to strangers. They warned me of those who wanted me institutionalized. Stories of frightening men have reached my village. Terrifying tales, the elders have spoken of the wicked and their use of evil vocabulary designed to deceive. I see it now, with your deformed words, "objective." Your psychiatric talk. I must go; I must go now! :scream:
