  • What is the Problem with Individualism?
    There is no good reason why in theory the individual and responsibility, or the individual and solidarity, ought not to coincide. These are entirely compatible insofar as we make them compatible. It starts with better intuitive understanding of the terms involved, and the abandonment of rigid thinking.

    I suspect that apathy is usually if not always the result of subtle forms of spiritual oppression that someone has endured for a long period of time. And yes, in some cases this can result in tremendous pain.

    It’s very easy to see the solution, but very difficult to convince others of it. Proof is supposed to do that. The problem is, in philosophy it doesn’t. In philosophy, we need to gradually iterate towards a general consensus through both thought and intuition—in this way Peirce was right.
