  • Can a computer think? Artificial Intelligence and the mind-body problem
It could happen. But what is the need for AI if we could use our full potential.
  • The Nature of Art
    For your information
Nietzsche was interested in the interplay between two creative forces that he believed guided artists. Art inspired by Apollo, the god of truth and prophecy, is rational, constructive, and idealistic, while art inspired by Dionysus, the god of wine and revelry, is emotional, instinctive, and spiritual.

Ok then tell me about those philosophers. I will surely refer their works.
  • The Nature of Art

Funny how you are attacking me instead of the argument. That itself is a fallacy . You could refer I M Copi and Cohens introduction to logic for more details.
  • Is maths embedded in the universe ?
Oh no. Being is , to be, to exist. You cannot see it you could experience it yourself. It is subjective after all. It is you lived in experience.
  • The Nature of Art
If you are actually familiar with philosophy , art and creativity goes hand in hand. Not art and muscle memory. Art is literally the expression of human creativity , skill and imagination. Not muscle memory. In my 5 yrs of academic study of philosophy I never heard any one talking about art and muscle memory.
  • Can a computer think? Artificial Intelligence and the mind-body problem

It is not imagination. If you are familiar about the yogic system of indian philosophy there is a clear cut definition to reach higher states of being. Almost all of the Indian philosophy tries to achieve a state of perfection and provides a practical method which anyone could follow. Astangayoga is the path for perfection proposed by yogic system of patanjali. You could refer that. If we couldn't achieve that state of mind. How are we going to make something that could.
  • The Nature of Art
No . For messi there is creativity. Muscle memory is when you see a ball in front of you and you instinctively hit it towards goal. Finding space, opening spaces, drilling into those spaces, splitting defense it is creativity it is art not muscle memory
  • Is maths embedded in the universe ?
That is something which has been thought about since ancient Greek philosophy. Being for me is to be in this world to have existence in this physical world but all encompassing physical reality , space, time and thought with it. Like an intertwined whole with several distinguishable parts which cannot be separated
  • The Nature of Art
If you are familiar with football I think I could explain it better. It is like messi and Ronaldo. Ronaldo is obviously the hard working one for him it's intuitive . But messi it's magic it's art. There is a difference between the two.
  • Can a computer think? Artificial Intelligence and the mind-body problem

Humans make AI. What more evidence do you want. We are never going to harness our true potential if at all we did that there is no way we could replicate that. Humans are so sophisticated. Humans are not machine . Humans are as complicated as the concept of dasien proposed by Heidegger
  • The Nature of Art
Actually I could give you an example quoting your own example. I am a black belt in karate in real life I used to do karate as a physical exercise kind of stuff rather than an art. There are sort of choreographed movements called katta in karate. You could simply do it by memorizing it. But understanding why do you what you do makes a world of difference. For a person who understand it has an imaginary opponent in front of you there is a flow there. For a person who does it without that is simply acting. Every great artist is the one who understand the art .
  • Is maths embedded in the universe ?
No, I don't think so. Math is just random pattern finding. It is finding pattern and solving the pattern with other pattern. If there is a being which have intuitive method to acquire knowledge math is not at all necessary.
  • Consciousness is a Precondition of Being
Being is a very complex word when it comes to philosophy . If you are going to say consciousness is the precondition of being then you have to clearly define what you meant by being. Is it ontic or ontological. If you refer existentialism there are beings without consciousness in some of their philosophy. Heidegger's dasien is different from all of these and is much more complex.
  • The Nature of Art
I have a difference in opinion. It is understanding the philosophy of art that matters. If you understand that ,the art is much more easier, you can tune into the core of the art . Be it a black belt or white belt one who understand why he or she is doing what he or she is doing things will be much easier and in flow. There is nothing artistic about muscle memory.
  • Can a computer think? Artificial Intelligence and the mind-body problem
AI will always be scientific and could not comprehend something like phenomenology. There will always be that inability. Because the creators of the AI are scientific in their approach and always will be. AI going beyond that process or method is unimaginable
  • Can a computer think? Artificial Intelligence and the mind-body problem
AI can never be as good as human beings. Human beings are not even using there full potential. Brain capacity of human beings is beyond imaginable. AI couldn't aquire emotional intelligence.
  • Can a computer think? Artificial Intelligence and the mind-body problem
Humans doesn't carry out tasks for bacteria. Humans are not machines either. Humans are beings. Being has an existence and an essense
  • Types of faith. What variations are there?

Faith is really a complex word. Faith be it religious or ideological is kind of a blind belief. One of the important features of it is probably how it's followers add adhoc hypothesis to support their belief. It is accustomed by fear when it comes to most theistic religion and bounded by rules when it comes to athesitic one. If it is a philosophy or ideology it is ethical need to follow it without questioning it. Faith is trust with a twist.
