  • 'Why Is There Something Rather Than Nothing?’ - ‘No Reason’

I agree with Devin99 on this. Some things no matter how seemingly illogical will always exist. As long as matter exists there will be measurement (assuming there is a being that can make measurements such as a bacterial organism or a human). Bacteria have sensors and thus make judgements and pseudo measurements on their surroundings.
  • Morality

I like how ants and bees both take care of their queen and they both have very small brains. It just goes to show you that alot of processing power can be packed into a small space. I do believe complex morality in combination with people having their own personalities does require a highly evolved creature or at the very least a very complex creator and i add that last part because i have a religion.
  • Space Is Expanding So It Can’t Be Infinite?

"Nothingness itself cannot be said to be infinite (because it is nothing, it has no dimensions)."

i have no evidence to say your wrong. This is one of those things that i would have to study for 2 months.
  • Space Is Expanding So It Can’t Be Infinite?

I understand Newtonian physics very well but when you get into the most modern physics there are critical details i'm not aware of so i don't want to make it out like this is a complete answer.

That being said if there is an infinite amount of area for matter and energy to expand into my logic circuits tell me there is an infinite amount of space. Without a doubt i am missing something.
  • A Natural (vs. Supernatural) Eternal Consciousness and Afterlife

"This in any significant sense? When? How By whom? "

Life and reality are extremely complex and electrons and electrical activity do not explain everything our brains do.

    article:

Just as a liar is capable of saying true things so the huffington post is capable of writing great articles.

Both cnn and fox have said true things before.
  • A Natural (vs. Supernatural) Eternal Consciousness and Afterlife
i like this topic. If hypothesis 2 was true i would like to add that it would be possible with future technology to possibly alleviate people who had a bad experience right before they died. Atleast i would hope lol.

Since our brains have been proven to be quantum computers dealing with quantum particles i think at some point in the distant future it might be possible for people to change their long term outlook on life through technology. I have no way of proving this though so this is just pure conjecture and wishful thinking.
  • 'Why Is There Something Rather Than Nothing?’ - ‘No Reason’
Stephen Hawkings said in his book "a brief history of time" that this notion that there needs to be a first cause (as in a cause before for lack of a better term effect) is illogical. In my opinion the beginning is undefinable and in some ways you could say that a god or gods existed at one time and they all died or you could say they still exist and each person has to decide for themselves what makes the most sense and what will have the best result.
  • An Argument for Eternalism

is there a special way to do a poll? Is that something that is typically done on this site?
  • An Argument for Eternalism
"I am often outnumbered when debating the issue. Maybe we should have a poll of presentism Vs eternalism? "

Maybe i'll do that when i come back from my thing i'm doing.

I believe when youtube videos explain the higher dimensions that they are supporting eternalism.
  • An Argument for Eternalism

"(So it works exactly the same way for time as space: if an object has no identifiable spacial start point, it does not exist)."

I think if you move into higher dimensions like 4th, 5th and beyond you stop dealing with exact positions (10th dimension for example) and start dealing with existence itself as in all positions of an object exist at once.

I'm not sure why my previous reply to this was deleted because it wasn't the slighest bit adversarial towards you nor was it controversial.

When you talk about eternalism i would have to agree with that.
  • An Argument for Eternalism

"(So it works exactly the same way for time as space: if an object has no identifiable spacial start point, it does not exist)."

When you get into the 4th, 5th and higher dimensions this sort of thing doesn't apply the same way. Check out "10 dimensions explained" on youtube.

As to what you said about eternalism, from what you said that appears to be true to me. Please lets not argue about the fine points. I'm to dumb and/or lazy right now to argue about the fine points. I'm not sure we even really disagree.

In the book "a brief history of time" by Stephen Hawkings he illustrates a story about how a women told a professor that the universe is sitting on top of a stack of infinite turtles. Most people would say this is ridicoulous but Stephen Hawkings correctly says that the very nature of existence requires something to exist forever even if its just a set of laws or dare i say it energies. I believe it goes without saying that either you have an effect without a cause or that something existed forever. Some say that this is not the first universe but universes come in and out of existence over long periods of time. A great video to watch it "10 dimensions explained" on youtube.
