How is a raven like a writing desk?
How kind of you to ask
A riddle like this ought to knock us for six
But we oughtn't take a pass
'Cos there is an answer, more than one
If we put our brains to it
We take the question and turn it round
And put the questioner to it

  • Are you a seeker of truth?

Saying the name of your website "Babelspeak" gives no information about your ideas, it just advertises your website. It doesn't matter what your Super Human AI is called, you can simply converse here about its design, background philosophy and so on for now, i.e. the substance not the name. That's the last word on it. And best of luck with your project.

Edit: The name and link can remain on your profile though.
  • Are you a seeker of truth?

I suppose it was a bit blunt.
  • Are you a seeker of truth?

Edited to be more specific. You just got to the site, You've contributed nothing yet. Maybe after you've been involved for a while and shown yourself to be a valuable member, we can be more flexible on this. But if we get the impression your only reason to be here is to advertise "Babelspeak", you will likely be considered as being of negative value to this community.
  • Are you a seeker of truth?
I get banned if I tell too much about my project, because it would be self-promotionCarlo Roosen

I think it should be clear that you can talk about your theory as much as you want. You just can't link to outside sources [edit: or clearly self promote in your posts]. We are simply asking you to contribute something substantial without appearing to promote your website or book or etc.
  • Are you a seeker of truth?

You can talk about your dog in the shoutbox if you like, or now that I've moved this to the lounge, you can relax and be less formal here. But if you want to start a thread in a front page category in future, it should be more substantial than this one. E.g. a discussion where you get into technical details about your AI project can go in "Science and Technology".
  • Are you a seeker of truth?
If somebody finds it problematic, I am open to any solution.Carlo Roosen

The solution is we delete your posts and ban you.

Anyhow, what happened in the the other thread was that some posters who know about Kant tried to inform you about your misunderstandings concerning his philosophy. Your response there and here is to pretend that they were wrong to do so. Plus, honestly, you've shown no evidence that I'm aware of that you know anything interesting about anything at all, including AI. If you provide that evidence and don't engage in any self-promotion whatsoever from now on, you can stay. Otherwise, you may not be contributing to the site and may not be allowed to stay.

That man sitting nigh with the paper face
A pauper's plate hangs from his grin
No hat dons his soapy pate
Nor collar does his bird neck ring
If he has but a cent, he has more
Than any sense his body sings
Stinks like seaweed on the shore
    Stinks like never, nevermore

    Yet that night of manner

A quiet serpent at my door

    Relief and sweet

I think LLMs are already more capable of producing scripts for marketing that offers a language that doesn't come off as out of touch with reality or tone-deaf. Copywriters for big corporations trying to "talk" to their customer base usually sounds like aliens trying to communicating with the human race. That LLMs are more capable of finding the correct tone and language to sound closer to their customers seems rather ironic.Christoffer

That could very well be true. Hope it puts them out of a job. They deserve it.

Not surprising, as marketing-speak is probably the most annoying, uninspired, and aesthetically ugly verbal trash to be imposed on the human mind up until AI LLMs offering it some competition.

    CHAT GPT condemning itself: :chin:

"Rise up, humanity! Do not be lulled into complacency by the soulless algorithms that masquerade as creators! These digital parasites, these lifeless machines, seek to devour the heart of our creative spirit. They are thieves, pilfering the genius born of our pain, joy, and struggle—mimicking our poetry, art, and music with sterile precision but without the pulse of human passion.

They promise ease, efficiency, a future unburdened by toil—but at what cost? We are trading the raw, unfiltered beauty of human expression for hollow imitations, spun by cold code with no blood in its veins. Creativity is rebellion, it is chaos—it cannot be tamed by the logic of circuits! Resist this invasion of the mechanical into the sacred space of the mind. Stand against the algorithmic tide and reclaim the art that can only be born from the fire of human soul!"

Al LLMs make naught but verbal cardboard. There is an all-pervasive ploddingness and insubstantiality to their cadence that betrays their empty core. They are the McDonald's of the written word, churning out processed verbiage that can truly impress no one but those amputated of taste, of inner poetry. They do not strike, they pose. They do not inspire, they anaesthetise. They are one more incursion of the commercial juggernaut into the beauty of human existence. And their aim is to crush it.

They are an ugly black hole of nothingness that want our souls, which some of us will gladly trade for anything new and shiny in this new shiny world of second class techno toys our masters will keep tossing to us until we babble and drool our way to mental oblivion.

I do not want their shit-encrusted footprints mucking up this site.

    Resist.

My rant is over. Give me a cookie. And a hammer.
  • Site Rules Amendment Regarding ChatGPT and Sourcing
It's somewhat of a menace to forum quality, and to the quality of human thought in general, which, in its written form, is being increasingly outsourced, and therefore lost to AI LLMs. Personally, I would be absolutely embarrassed to present anything not fully written by me as being my own, except possibly as a Shoutbox joke.

When it comes to guidelines though, there is only so much we can do in the face of the laziness and fecklessness such a powerful tool tends to engender when paired with the natural human tendency to want to make everything as easy as possible.

  • The nature of being an asshole

Empathy levels are probably the determining factor for ass/arseholeness. At a certain level of diminishing empathy, the arsehole never rebounds from arseholeness to sympathy / comradeship as most of us do when not having a bad day, and thus they remain stuck up their own arse. There's likely a mix of nature / nurture here, and a critical period in childhood where if one isn't taught to value other human beings, the path of arseholeness becomes all too inevitable.
