Banno called me a Philosophy Cheerleader more than a Philosophy player if that makes any sense. I took it as a compliment because I know he meant it to be truthful and not hurtful. And to be completely honest, I have the legs for being a Cheerleader way before I could ever have legs as a player.

Mongrel, I genuinely care when someone speaks with their heart and I will listen with mine. I am only on page 2 of 13 on this thread but I can tell you that I appreciate anytime you bring up personal experiences of you life lessons because there is often something I can relate to. While I realize that as gender we are in the extreme minority on any philosophy forum, I find it incredibly valuable to have the perspective and expression of another woman. I can count on two hands the female "thinkers" that I have known over decade and I am almost always sorry when they pull back.

My fellow thinkers, all we have is each other to learn from since none of us came with an instruction manual and hard as we may try and as empathetic as we may allow ourselves to be, it is impossible to experience the same life events as the thinker next to us. It is for that reason that some words should be measured before used, some thoughts might be better left unsaid and genuine apologies should never be considered a loss in a battle of ideas.

Just my two cents, that no one asked for. So if I can get my change, I will be on my way.

The inner voice inside of me is usually in first person.
However occasionally I have that Good Angel on one shoulder, debating the Devil on the other shoulder and THAT makes me wonder in what person, that additional voice is offering the counterbalance.

What I am saying is that we have to be vulnerable enough on both sides of a discussion to learn. We have to find common ground as well as our differences in order to grow philosophically. That is not to say that everyone will encourage that vulnerability but if you read others for a while, you will see others sharing, often in the cover of jest, deep concerns, shared life struggles and other cornerstones of who we are, deep inside. A place we would normally protect in face to face interaction.

I had not heard of it and it sounds wonderful and if comes to fruition. It appears they are indoctrinating their 'Next" generation as well.
