• Spaceship Earth
    I should perhaps add that this is similar to Adrian Bejan's Constructal Theory, proposed as an amendment to the second law of thermodynamics, and the Chinese mysticism of Chi. Rocks rolling downhill either steadily become smaller and rounder, more humble, or are pushed out of the flow altogether until they collectively support the kind of efficient flow dynamics that can cause an avalanche to change everything in an instant. The smaller rocks within the soil are also necessary for life as we know it because they can efficiently convey both water and heat.

    I could go on and on attempting to explain the details, but it well accepted philosophy that is now becoming accepted physics. You don't need to identify exactly what kind of rocks they are or whatever in order to observe their flow dynamics and how it changes their role within the environment.

    Think of it as a fundamental law of logic and physics that a context without any content and vice versa is impossible. Hence, we see geometry or objects moving into the future, but always changing in the process. That process can be expressed as a systems logic where the more humble anything becomes, the more it resembles the void and the more efficient it becomes, but in extreme contexts like a black hole its incredible efficiency is transformed into creative output because metaphysical extremes are always excluded by the context and content defining one another.

    Exactly how the passage of time changes according to the content and context in every situation is something I have yet to work out, but it means time can be expressed as either static juxtapositions as in a fated Relativitistic mono-block universe or as flow dynamics or bandwidth issues.
  • Spaceship Earth

    Half the world recognizes what is commonly called "The mother of all" or the void that gives rise to the infinite things that exist. One without the other is a contradiction in terms because like up and down, back and front, the two define one another. Everything being context dependent or paradoxical might sound like its impossible to ever prove such a thing, however, quantum mechanics is a good example that the relationship can be inferred and established statistically. What I'm attempting to do with my writing is extrapolate a systems logic that describes how the two appear to exchange identities in every way imaginable that is self-consistent.

    This is related to the contextual assertion that words only have demonstrable meaning in specific contexts. By expressing words as variables I can allow them to collectively express the systems logic. You could think of it as staring off into infinity and seeing the same symmetry fading into the distance. A four fold supersymmetry would then express the recursion in the law of identity as infinity vanishes into indeterminacy.
  • Spaceship Earth
    The idea is that the vacuum of space itself will transform into virtual particles and eventually become an impenetrable wall of pure energy. Virtual particles are constantly appearing out of nothing and disappearing again and are, theoretically, incapable of being detected directly. Still, their existence has been confirmed by such things as the lamb shift and simply holding two metal plates close enough together they will exert an outward pressure even in a vacuum. Whether they increase in number at close to the speed of light is the still to be determined theory of Unruh.

    Relativity suggests space and time are constantly exchanging identities, but in a causal fashion, and implies that time is possibly an illusion and we inhabit a fated mono-block universe. My own view is that the passage of time is merely the greater context of the void exchanging identities with its contents similar to the Unruh Effect. We perceive time passing simply because a context without any content, and vice versa, is a contradiction and a metaphysical extreme excluded by intrinsic yin-yang dynamics. Everything being paradoxical means we can never determine with certainty if our universe is fated or changing so we perceive it as usually changing by exchanging geometry or space for time and vice versa. Even whether time is flowing forwards or backwards would ultimately remain a mystery and the arrow of time can be viewed as merely due to the fact the human mind doesn't work backwards.

    Note that the idea that a context without any content and vice versa can explain why its impossible to achieve a perfect vacuum, absolute zero, or the speed of light.

    I thought I would add a more conventional and shorter poem. This one is a direct extrapolation of the last poem in the Tao Te Ching and is quite well known. As you may have guessed, all the poems are supposed to be centered rather than left aligned and their shapes are important. Not because we try to produce any particular shapes, but the shapes are intrinsic to the mathematics and provide clues as to when we have gotten a poem correct. For example, I have one poem in the shape of a mushroom and another in the shape of a toilet and, as difficult as it might be for some to accept, these shapes are not deliberate but simply incidental to the fractal equation. Chinese sometimes play with their shapes as refrigerator magnets shuffling them around to see what they can make with two of the poems being famous for depicting a man and woman fitting together and having sex.

    Believe it or not, this poetry is all agnostic, as am I, with references to God and mother nature always capable of being interpreted as simply the "truth" or "nature".

    Priceless Comedy

    Faint quiet laughter carries across the field.
    Jubilant toddlers playing hide and seek,
    Familiar siren voices calling me on the wind.
    Still foolish enough to merely laugh at any foolishness.
    Silly enough to tickle plenty of purple people pink!
    Somehow knowing, without knowing,
    That which none can ever really know:
    Their gift of grace is merely for sharing.
    Better enjoyed together for its own sake,
    The blissful contentment, bumbling along;
    Eternally fresh slapstick seizes the moment,
    Presenting delightful gifts to the entire world!
    Capable of wrapping people around their little fingers,
    Touching all affectionately, while contending with none.
    Engagingly flawless naiveté,
    Priceless family comedy.

    While the above poem is a bit long, I have some that are ten or more pages long. Its supposed to be purely descriptive rather than descriptive and I also have poems that are quite short and actually rhymes that I learned as a small child. So long as the poetry obeys the rules and expresses all of the sentiments and mathematics as humbly and elegantly as possible that's all that matters. My own poetry is what I like to describe as "primitive tribal adult potty humor" and many tribals see civilized people as having stunted senses of humor. They can literally tell jokes that would make a porn star blush and run the other way.

    Lost in the Crowd

    Life is not a state of being or a curse,
    But, silent poetry in motion!
    The same poems we all enjoy!
    The same groove we all move!
    The same absorbing ambiance;
    The same exact delicious steps,
    The same melody, we all adore,
    The same lyrics, no one tires of,
    The same warm ineffable prose!
    Yet unique, for each individual;
    Each having their unique value!
    Each possessed of a unique style,
    The delightful dance we all perform!
    As if we're a kid in a candy store!
    Betwixt the silent notes, of desire.
    Reciting our silent, personal prose!
    Dancing, to our unchained melody,
    Gliding upon heavenly moonbeams!
    Between all the stars and the moon!
    Ever higher with each deeper breath!
    Rapidly time slows to a crawl for us!
    Reveling in dancing poetry in motion!
    Reveling within this glorious moment!
    Reveling in doing what we wish to do!
    Reveling in the simple freedom to revel!
    Reveling, in our joyous freedom we feel!
    Lost, in the wonderment of amazement!
    Lost in the wonderment, of wonderment!
    Lost in wonderment, of all our ignorance!
    Our one desire to dance with the universe!
    To rejoice in dancing, with God's creation!
    To share any love with the whole universe!
    Singing our song, with the universal choir!
    Our jubilation ascending, unto the heavens;
    Casting gazes eternally higher, as we dance!
    Casting our sights upon the moon and stars!
    Open to all the joy, that life has yet to offer!
    Only knowing this singular blissful moment!
    Only knowing great wonderment never ends!
    Only knowing a journey can be never-ending!
    Often when too weak we can lie to ourselves!
    Waiting until we're sure we're strong enough!
    Waiting until we are certain the time is right!
    Some of us just waiting for some kind of sign,
    Some just wait when waiting just feels better.
    Some attempt to wrestle with their conscience!
    Some try to haggle, with anything in existence!
    Until more certain, or willing to face ourselves!
    Until feeling more comfortable simply listening,
    Until better prepared, to find a different world,
    Only aware, we are unwilling to go there today,
    To seek within where we all fear to go the most!
    To boldly go where nobody, has ever gone before!
    To beneath the deepest and bluest event horizon!
    To journey down any road, we're afraid to travel!
    To confront each of the obstacles, along our path!
    To slay the beasts of everyone's worst nightmares!
    Naked, and completely unashamed of who we are!
    Naked becoming invulnerable in our vulnerability!
    Unafraid to enter our world, as a different person!
    Whatever has happened, whenever we remain lost,
    When our feet lose the path and the path the way,
    You can never change, what has been done to you,
    You can never even take back, the things you felt;
    And nobody else will ever be able to do it for you.
    No one among us ever really made another listen!
    None among us, can ever make themselves listen,
    None can ever hope to make others listen either!
    None could really pop, another person's bubble!
    None forces themselves to listen to themselves,
    Never when intent on tuning themselves out!
    When all we have to do, is go with the flow;
    Granting ourselves all the serenity required!
    To face that which we alone might change,
    To accept the things, we can never change,
    The wisdom, to distinguish between them!
    To face whatever it is we may yet change,
    To face our fears and see them disappear,
    To do all the things we know we can do;
    To do more than all others think we can!
    Knowing, God, has already granted this.
    Simple pattern matching applying to all,
    The one greater context of the One truth,
    That which is beyond, all comprehension,
    That which gives, anything any meaning,
    That which gives our desires significance,
    That which makes the stars shine forever!
    That which graces, everything upon earth!
    That which is the great spark of life itself!
    Is all that anybody, has ever really needed!
    Humanity has merely to take the next step!
    Humanity has only to listen to their hearts!
    Has merely to begin dancing, to their music!
    To grasp both individually, and collectively!
    To grasp both intellectually, and affectively;
    What we've always all wanted, and desired!
    Humanity's final fulfillment, and birthright!
    Enough happiness, to fill the entire universe!
    Providing everything, we all actually require!
    Providing for any of our most personal needs!
    Giving us more than we think we can handle!
    Giving us all the resources, to make it happen;
    Giving us all everything we need this moment!
    To provide anyone their own Heaven on earth;
    To provide anyone what we've always wanted,
    To discover any happiness, peace, love, and joy!
    To spread it, to all the four corners of the earth,
    To personify love with each step we might take!
    The wisdom to know, what we may accomplish!
    The courage to manage the seemingly impossible!
    The contentment, to make the best of everything!
    The willingness to let go, what none may control!
    The grace to always find forgiveness in our heart!
    The serenity to accept what we may never change!
    The strength and motivation, for us to keep going!
    The love springing forth, from our memory of God!
    We have only but to accept the Truth in our heart!
    We have merely but to give in, to our heart's desire,
    We have only to allow ourselves to do as we desire!
    We have merely to encourage, our impulse to dance!
    We have merely to allow ourselves to live, yet again,
    Each has only to surrender to their individual truth!
    Each has only to raise their gazes, upon the heavens!
    Each has only to become, their own poetry in motion!
    No mere words of wisdom, provided by a mortal man!
    Nor greater triumph by the greatest of humanitarians;
    Nor even Jesus walking on water in front of everyone,
    Can really make anyone decide to tolerate one another!
    Can make us all choose to listen and go upon our faith!
    Can really force someone to exercise their own free will!
    Reaching out while allowing ourselves to be vulnerable;
    To abide by harmony, all must dance to their own music,
    Each must take their own steps on the road less traveled,
    Never dwelling on whether our dance is ever good enough,
    Never insisting we know any great secrets to good dancing!
    Never complaining anyone else, should behave a certain way!
    Never seriously considering becoming but another wall flower!
    Never distracted dwelling on, what we consider the best moves!
    Never raising our feet we are gliding upon invisible moonbeams!
    Never budging an inch, discover we're traversing the multiverse!
    Never remembering the lyrics discover our hearts may still sing!
    Never uttering a sound, we sing along with the angelic choir!
    Confident with every step, we may climb higher and higher!
    Confident none among the living might ever do any better!
    Than to savor each moment, improving upon themselves!
    Through opening our hearts we accept all of the world!
    Through opening our minds, we expand our universe!
    Through opening eyes we embrace the world anew!
    Through opening our own ears we can ease fears!
    Through opening our arms, we open our hearts!
    Through reaching out still discover ourselves!
    A tiniest silver lining, a quantum of solace!
    That which is seldom, seriously pondered!
    The most meager of paltry consolations;
    Beneath what academics may all prove,
    Beneath any and all of your sensations!
    Upon becoming lost in any large crowd,
    Upon losing ourselves in the Great Big World,
    We can always take the long way home,
    We can always find our way back home!
    Take a stroll down the road less traveled,
    With our deliciously lightest of footsteps,
    Dancing upon our delightful moonbeams!
    The forks in the road all looking the same!
    Forks blending into, ever greater horizons!
    Choosing not to choose wherever we do go!
    Permitting our mind, to meander wherever,
    Meandering merely for the sake of dancing!
    Pulling us down gravity still lifts us all up,
    Urging us onward, towards greater heights!
    Declaring approval for a wild river of tears!
    Our feet knowing the way the path our feet;
    Breathing deep while seeking out our center!
    Knowing the second you know you're wrong,
    Serenely placing one foot in front of another!
    Smallest of fry, must all be treated delicately;
    The child within, treated most tenderly of all!
    Nurtured becomes the hero of its own dreams!
    The heart alone capable of extreme tenderness,
    Upon losing yourself, in the largest of crowds,
    Upon losing yourself, even if you are all alone;
    Upon losing yourself, in the larger cruel world,
    Upon losing your way, anywhere in the world!
    One beacon of light, at the end of every tunnel;
    The one greater truth, urging us to continue on!
    Giving ourselves permission to end all suffering;
    Imploring us to find acceptance of our suffering,
    Honoring our past, while embracing the moment;
    Honoring the past looking forward to our future!
    Embracing our own feelings with all of our heart!
    With each tiny scrap, of T.L.C. we can yet muster,
    With every ounce of acceptance we might discover;
    With each tiny bit of courage, we can scrounge up!
    With any of our faith, we might bring to our table!
    With all the resolve and strength, we have to offer!
    With all of the resources of a lifetime of experience,
    Gingerly searching for the forest, through any trees;
    Seeking out the context, of greater truth to embrace.
    Positive it has to be out there somewhere if we look!
    Feeling deep in our bones that the answers await us,
    Knowing without knowing we should already know.
    Simply by opening our own hearts, may we open eyes!
    Simply by opening our arms we open everyone's minds!
    Simply using beautiful words we may yet defy gravity!
    Simply by opening minds, we can touch someone gently!
    Touching one another gently we may change our reality!
    Touching one another gently, we may move the universe!
    Never be too afraid, to scrutinize everything you believe!
    Never be too afraid to express what you desire to become!
    Never be too afraid to seek love anywhere you can find it!
    Never be too afraid to search for more of your Big Picture!
    Never be too afraid, to simply ask yourself some questions!
    Never be too afraid to engage living your life to the fullest!
    Never be too afraid, to learn to love yourself all over again!
    Never be too afraid, to journey down the road less traveled!
    To dance yet again as none else can, and none else ever will!
    To dance and lose yourself, in even the largest of all crowds.
    Gravity pulling us down painfully may yet lift us up again,
    Set yourself free and see if your love will come back to you.
    If it never does come back, it was never love to begin with,
    Unwilling to allow yourself to be free you can't give love,
    Confusing any happiness with avoiding all of your fears.
    Vigilant to avoid any fear you forsake all contentment,
    Unable to trust yourself fully you can't trust another.
    There are no more lost worlds to discover or conquer,
    Then all the ones that reside within each one of us!
    Each heart is a small child lost in the wilderness,
    Crying, lost among the legions of a strange city,
    For if not now then when can thee love thyself?
    There is no, appropriate, time and place to begin,
    There is no more appropriate person to start with.
    Love is all we need, and all nature has to offer us!
    Love may only be found allowing ourselves to give!
    Those who cannot yet give, unable to face the truth,
    The Truth, that always comes back to haunt anyone!
    The One Truth still hiding beneath all of our bullshit!
    The One Truth that none among us can avoid forever!
    The inescapable Truth, at the heart of any heartaches!
    The person they cannot give anything to is themselves!
    The person they cannot give the Truth to is themselves!
    The person who needs their ministrations is themselves!
    The person they could get to know better, is themselves!
    The person who can help them help others is themselves!
    The person they may still learn more about is themselves!
    The person who really needs them to listen, is themselves,
    The one who needs any help they may offer is themselves!
    The person, who needs somebody to lean on is themselves!
    The person they can learn to trust yet again is themselves!
    The person who needs, more of their support is themselves!
    The person who can help ease their suffering is themselves!
    The person who needs more of their guidance is themselves!
    The person they could possibly help the most, is themselves!
    The person they need to ask more questions of is themselves!
    The one person with many answers they need, is themselves!
    The person they need to be there for them more is themselves!
    The person they can learn to love all over again is themselves!
    Whether lost in a crowd or all alone, some of us may attempt!
    To accomplish what we ourselves already know, is impossible!
    To bend reality to our will, to force it to provide needy desires!
    To steal that which we know damned well can never be stolen!
    To force that which we know damned well just can't be forced!
    To corrupt that, which anybody knows may never be corrupted!
    To hide from that, which we all know you might only run from!
    To lose that which any know for themselves could never be lost!
    To barter that which everybody knows can't be bought and sold!
    To waste our own time and sanity upon what we know is futile!
    To ignore what everybody knows they can just pretend to ignore!
    To ignore what everyone knows, only comes back to haunt us all!
    Each worried they have lost what they know is only given away!
    Each worried they have ruined what no one among us can clutch!
    Each worried that a single step, might require a lifetime of effort!
    Each worried that once paradise is lost it might never be regained!
    Confused they choose not to choose to lose themselves in the crowd!
    Shadows of streetlight people searching up and down the boulevard,
    For a smile they can share the night, it goes on and on and on and on!
    All their shadows searching in the night searching just to find emotion!
    Shadows hiding in the night, don't stop believing, hold onto that feeling!
    Shadows somewhere in the night, oh the movie never ends it goes on and on!
    Some will win, some will lose, some are born to sing the blues it goes on and on,
    Ensuring even those lost in a crowd will always learn something about themselves.
    (Journey)
  • What do you think about the new emergent field of quantum semiotics?
    This is actually related to a book I'm writing. In the last twenty years there has been a sudden explosion of quantum mechanics providing answers for macroscopic phenomena. For example, sociologists knew nothing about quantum mechanics, but certainly understood statistics. When they applied the mathematics for quantum mechanics to puzzling research that made no sense according to classical logic they found it explained them and invented the new field of Quantum Cognition.

    While physicists have been commonly been insisting that quantum effects are limited to the subatomic, the theorists have been telling them for over half a century that they are wrong and now the evidence is coming to forefront. Likewise, over half the planet has been claiming since before the dawn of civilization that time is not simply linear and reality is not merely causal, but the job of scientists is to drag their feet and complain about anything that doesn't fit into their own profitable worldviews of denying they can't control reality.

    My own view is that Semiotics is merely one of the newer attempts by academics to dip their toe in the water without actually committing themselves because they simply don't have a better alternative yet and need to start somewhere. What is required, I believe, is a systems logic that can make sense out of classical logic while allowing the law of identity to go down the nearest convenient rabbit hole or toilet of your preference that takes Semiotics beyond Wittgenstein and Stephen Pepper.
  • The Paradox of Our Existence
    I've had one mathematician whose work is classified as Top Secret express great interest in my work, experts in AI, physics, and even Ram Das and the CEO of Google. That few people here comprehend Taoism comes as no surprise to me and is no reflection on my work. I don't write pop philosophy.
  • The Paradox of Our Existence
    Buddha came from India.
  • Spaceship Earth
    It may be the only alternative available. The astronauts who went to the moon all suffered from heart disease for some unknown reason. Spending even weeks in a spaceship to Mars could possibly turn out to be deadly. That might sound alarmist on my part, but space is truly the new frontier and we are discovering new complications nobody thought of all the time.

    When the space shuttle first went into orbit its belly was lit up with a brilliant blue glow of Cherenkov radiation caused by radical oxygen atoms nobody knew where there and their discovery explained why for fifty years satellites that were designed to last a hundred years fried within five. Similarly, a stupid experiment thought up by high school students was to simply put a Geiger counter in orbit and, when they did, they discovered an inexplicable radiation anomaly over Brazil that has nothing to do with anything on the ground and had to reroute all of the manned flights and satellites around the thing. The list of unknowns and known hazards goes on and on, but astronauts are the new explorers and live to take those risks.
  • Spaceship Earth
    The physicists are already speculating that it leverages the Unruh Effect. This is a totally theoretical effect that nobody has proven exists yet where space itself transforms into virtual particles at near the speed of light. A cold wood stove at close to the speed of light would, according to the theory, start to glow red until it eventually disintegrated. Supposedly moving in circles would allow you to go a bit faster than in a straight line and the next generation particle accelerators should be able to test the effect.

    My own suspicion is that space and time can exchange identities in extreme contexts and its possible to produce nonlinear temporal effects or "ripples" in time itself and the thrust they are developing is actually time being converted into space behind the device or space in front of the device being warped and compacted, but that's all speculation at this point. The recent discovery of gravity has already established that space-time itself can be warped and we'll just have to see what the experimenters can find out.
  • Spaceship Earth
    NASA and the physicists have no choice in the matter. As much as they might prefer to simply take their time and try to first figure out how it works, if they do not exploit the technology as fast as they can others will. The ability to send a probe off towards the stars under continuous acceleration for the next century is simply too big an opportunity to pass up.
  • The Paradox of Our Existence
    I don't read Chinese and have had to study six English language translations. My personal favorite is the Peter Merel GNL Interpolation which is available online for free. Its incredibly lucid which is exactly what I need to extrapolate the systems logic precisely because English isn't nearly as metaphoric a language as Chinese.

    The Diamond Sutra is really good reading, but Buddhism is too metaphysical for me. Its the metaphors that interest me and not anyone's ideas about maya or whatever.

    Exactly, they confirmed it generates thrust and they also just announced they are going to test one in space. The voyager space craft that just left the solar system would require 30,000 years just get through the Ort cloud about 1/3 of the way to Alpha Centuri, while this thing could generate continuous thrust for a hundred years using a nuclear engine.

    I have a free standing offer to teach anyone how to use a dictionary and search engine. Any number of these links will confirm what I've said. People are arguing over exactly how the thing works and there hasn't been any peer reviewed papers on the thing, but its been tested by even NASA in a vacuum chamber and it produces thrust. A tiny, tiny, tiny amount of thrust, but its definitely there and enough to make chemical rockets obsolete for anything but going into orbit.

    What's even more interesting to me is that, because they aren't sure how it works, they might be able to improve upon it a great deal. That the engineers couldn't care less about peer reviewed papers or the lack of explanations and are too excited about exploring the possibilities doesn't surprise me in the least.

    Personally, I think the Unruh Effect is pretty close to the correct answer. That's quantum field theory that is the basis of modern Standard Theory which is accurate to about 14 decimal places and reconciles quantum mechanics and relativity to roughly 80%. What I think is happening is simply that they are turning the vacuum into virtual particles, but it could be a bit more complicated and they could also be messing with space-time itself and doing some kind of weirdness. There's a lot of that happening in physics right now with one researcher recently increasing the mass of electrons in a superconducting circuit merely by using a really powerful magnetic field.
  • The Paradox of Our Existence
    My own philosophy is paradoxical and can accommodate both ontology and epistemology as yin and yang. The entire "Oneness" argument is a dead end if you ask me because existence is a nonsensical "singular-infinity" with everything resembling both the creative impetus of the Big Bang and the inescapable finale of a Big Crunch. Its systems logic where the identity of everything goes down the nearest convenient rabbit hole or toilet of your preference and instead of looking for metaphysical answers to anything its about finding pragmatic metaphorical ones.
  • The Paradox of Our Existence
    The Pakua or Bagua is the 12,000 year old metaphoric logic of Taoism that was perfected in the I-Ching. All the interpretations of it I've seen are weird mysticism or whatever, but I've mastered the fuzzy logic it contains and am attempting to extrapolate the systems logic according to Functionalist standards.

    I've extrapolated about 185 out of 430 poems needed, but the rest will have to wait for the sequel to book I'm currently writing. I don't know if its ok to reference other websites here, but I've posted some of my work online elsewhere if anyone is interested and a simple search engine should turn it up. I'd post some of it here, but it contains a lot of cuss words required for the contextual vagueness and I don't know if that's permissible either. Anyway, if you saw my work you'd understand what I mean by dry. Its wild hippie dippy poetry and philosophy that might make some people blush, but that's one reason why the normal academic approach just can't do what I can.
  • The US destroyed Syria

    Its too weird to believe. I'm now a part of what the Taoists call the "Yin World" and only whisper about among themselves knowing no outsider could ever understand and would just think they are totally nuts. However, quantum mechanics now makes sense to me which is nice. For example, space and time are merely the greater context of the void and its contents exchanging identities. We perceive time passing because a context, the future cannot exist without content and vice versa. The arrow of time is merely due to the fact that the human brain simply won't work backwards.

    It explains a lot of things including why its impossible to obtain a perfect vacuum, absolute zero, or the speed of light as merely due to yin-yang dynamics excluding any metaphysical extremes. Hopefully within six months I'll have the systems logic worked out to prove it, but I've already experienced nonlinear time online. Instant messaging and whatnot where I would receive the answers to questions I had not asked yet. My mother experienced the same thing on the telephone a few years before and asked me about it, but I had no clue what could cause it at the time.

    Things are about to get very interesting for the entire planet which is good, because within twenty years commercial fishing is supposed to be impossible with no more wild fish in the oceans and within fifty every land animal larger than a dog will either be extinct or only exist in zoos. We need the next scientific revolution to start to be able to save as many people and as much of the environment as we can.
  • The US destroyed Syria

    Just by accident I happened to master the Tao Te Ching. Its the kind of thing that only monks meditating in caves tend to do and I was not expecting it. Anyway, I'm now in my fourth year of writing a book that attempts to leverage contextual vagueness to extrapolate the underlying systems logic of the Tao Te Ching. If I'm successful it will mean I have reconciled Relativity and quantum mechanics and the Intuitionistic mathematicians should be able to use it to formulate a Theory of Everything and Nothing.

    I was originally reluctant to write the book because I've had mathematicians interested in my sense of humor whose work is classified by the US government. They all want to use the fuzzy logic it contains to build AI and nuclear missile guidance systems and whatnot which I want no part of, but within twenty years even the classical computers will be able to expose the mathematical foundations and I decided it was time to write what is known as, "The Book That Can Never Be Written" and hope it can make a difference for the better.
  • The Paradox of Our Existence
    Thanks for the heads up about Eriugena, but I am a master of the Tao Te Ching and Pakua and rather busy right now in my fourth year of writing a 600 page book entirely composed of recursive logic. Metaphoric logic is my specialty and reading dry western philosophical interpretations is just not what I need to be doing right now.
  • The Paradox of Our Existence
    That you have no idea of what I'm talking about is not surprising. They say the first thing you learn about systems logic is that half the planet doesn't even know such a thing is possible. Read over what I've already written and then see if you can ask a meaningful question other than saying you have no clue what I'm talking about.
  • Spaceship Earth

    The physicists can argue all they want, but several labs around the world have tested the damned thing and it produced thrust including NASA testing it in a vacuum chamber. They would not be preparing to launch one into orbit at a cost of $100,000.00 a pound if they were not sure it has a fair chance of working in space.
  • The Paradox of Our Existence

    Not according to quantum mechanics and roughly sixty percent of the human race. You can complain all you want and argue otherwise all you want, but the evidence says you are wrong and the tree blocking the light has no meaning outside of the context of the shadow it casts anymore than the shadow has any meaning outside of the context of the light.
  • Spaceship Earth
    Utilizing classic dualistic logic, modern civilization has achieved its lofty heights by focusing on beauty to the exclusion of humor by pounding away relentlessly upon the excluded middle and, as far as I'm concerned, the next scientific revolution just can't come soon enough because the current one is destroying the entire planet and its difficult to see how any of the punch lines could get much worse.

    As for colonizing Mars, NASA already has a reactionless drive straight out of Star Trek and they are now preparing to test one in space. The physicists disagree about how the damned thing works, but work it does without spitting anything out the back! Theoretically, you could equip a spaceship with a nuclear engine used for a submarine and reach the moon in four hours, Mars in two or three weeks, and Jupiter in perhaps six months. Thanks to not requiring any propellant it can provide continuous thrust and you would simply turn the ship around at the half-way point to decelerate.

    The latest estimates are that even classical computers will be capable of revealing the mathematical foundations of a Theory of Everything within the next twenty years.
  • The Paradox of Our Existence

    Its not merely an effect of scale but, more fundamentally, one of juxtapositions. For example, the shade of a tree can save someone's life in the desert and, therefore, can be described as acausally becoming greater than any mere sum of its parts because the shade has no demonstrable identity independent from the light. People can argue all they want that its just utter nonsense and that the world must be causal, however, over fifty years of quantum mechanics indicate otherwise and now other branches of the science are beginning to support their conclusions as well.

    In a paradox of existence everything, including the laws of physics, would organize around what's missing from this picture rather than merely obeying some sort of metaphysical rules and this is exactly what all the evidence is pointing towards. The visual centers of the brain, for example, are organized around searching for what's missing from this picture because analog logic rules the universe and shadows, for example, can be the fastest, easiest, and most reliable way to tell if an animal is moving.

    The implication is that yin-yang dynamics apply because of a universal recursion in the law of identity which means, among other things, that its just as nonsensical to talk about light existing without a shadow as it is to talk about shadows existing without some sort of light to cast them. In fact, photons are instantly emitted and absorbed, experience isomorphic space-time, and otherwise have no known independent identity of their own merely conveying any energy and information with perfect fidelity which, just so happens to be the same description of a shadow.
  • Egoism and Evolution
    I was agreeing with you that it requires brains and merely adding that it also requires heart.
  • The Paradox of Our Existence

    Exactly, there is a context in which it is complete and utter B.S. just as knowing things like quantum mechanics will not help me teach a child how to tie their shoes.
  • Egoism and Evolution

    As I said, the mathematics indicate its about staying two punch lines ahead of the competition, yet it also requires being generous. If everybody around you is generous then you get situations such as African tribes who had to learn the hard way to teach their children not to trust everyone because slavers found they could easily convince them to follow them anywhere because they were so trusting. The issue is not merely how to use your heart, but also your head.
  • The Paradox of Our Existence

    It's not a vague endeavor to produce a self-organizing systems logic that can reconcile quantum mechanics and Relativity. Its metaphoric logic which was first established 12,000 years ago and crucial to next generation Intuitionistic mathematics.

    As for the irony of my own words having no meaning it hasn't escaped me. While the idea of a "humorous logic" might sound like a complete oxymoron the first quantifiable theory of humor has already established that humor involves perceptions of something having low entropy. In other words, its now possible to earn a doctorate in comedy and, this year, the US government finally admitted that have classified a few jokes as "Vital to the National Defense" and hinted that congress is investigating and, of course, they have no comment.

    Systems logic like the one I am developing can have everything including their own logic go down the nearest convenient rabbit hole or toilet of your personal preference. For over half the planet beauty and humor, logic and bullshit, are indivisible "complimentary-opposites" and, for example, some of the poems I write are famous for being both normally quite beautiful and funny as hell when read in specific contexts.
  • The Paradox of Our Existence

    Its a childhood obsession I never outgrew. :)

    The contradiction is that we both exist and don't exist simultaneously because everything is apparently context dependent. The most common example I give of context dependence is that from the ground the earth can look flat, from orbit round, from far away its a dimensionless point, and from the other side of the universe its as if it had never existed. This reflects what is called the "Hubble Horizon" in physics which is fundamental to modern quantum field theory which is the basis of the accepted Standard Theory.

    Everything being context dependent doesn't mean we can know for certain if it is actually a paradox. Proving the existence of a paradox is impossible according to classical logic and all we can do is infer the existence of one by examining the statistical evidence, which is exactly what quantum mechanics has demonstrated for the last sixty years. What a paradox of existence would display is a universal recursion in the law of identity where, ultimately, knowledge and awareness, fate and free will, would become indistinguishable. Like quantum mechanics, the implication is that our universe is acausal or magical and we simply have no choice but to decide for ourselves whether we have free will because the physical evidence would support both a fated and random universe.
  • The Paradox of Our Existence
    You've obviously never read the Tao Te Ching or the work of Wittgenstein. Words only have demonstrable meaning according to their function in specific contexts. Someone can say something like, "She's Hot!" and could be referring to anything from a good looking woman to a gerbil with a fever.
  • The US destroyed Syria
    The entire middle east has been a disaster since western countries discovered oil there and to blame the US alone for Syria's current disaster is a bit of a stretch. Ironically, the US has enough natural gas alone to last us for four hundred years and the only reason we are there is because its empire baby, and this train ain't stopping until she derails. Empires are always based upon the control of the distribution of things like oil, food, and water because without any of the basics you are lucky to survive or tread water.

    Countries like the US and Russia constantly destabilizing the region ensures that neither one can gain total control, however, notably the low, low prices at the gas pump in the US in recent years is the result of Syria selling oil at rock bottom prices to fund this catastrophe. The entire world is benefiting from them being caught in the middle which, of course, benefits the US because we are the largest exporter of everything else and before this disaster, believe it or not, we were for the first time ever the largest exporter of oil.

    By allowing the oil companies to drill all over the US in recent years we are now prepared for WWIII and have oil reserves ready to be tapped again on a moment's notice. This is the same long term strategy common in both the military and businesses with, for example, the Japanese now cutting down all the rain forest trees and sinking many of them in the pacific ocean where they won't decay knowing that within fifty years or so they're value will go through the roof.
  • Metaphor, Novelty, and Speed
    Nice to see you here Streetlight. :)

    The language centers of the brain are currently being mapped out by neurologists, but the evidence all indicates language is based upon pattern matching which is metaphorical and that grammar is derived from the proximity of syntax. In other words, its the opposite of what I think you are suggesting and we derive more concrete meanings for words from metaphors. This also makes sense of the revelation that different languages use different parts of the brain and these are always parts that evolved for different purposes such as motor control or whatever. It means language is an emergent phenomenon and to better understand our use of more concrete definitions for terms we must first embrace our use of metaphors.
  • Egoism and Evolution
    A mathematical examination of the Theory of Evolution concluded its about staying two punch lines ahead of the competition, while another study discovered that without generosity evolutionary change is impossible. Its two steps forward and one back and my own theory is that the causal view of evolution is simply too limited because evolution is actually about how creative a species becomes. Darwin insisted evolution is not about survival of the fittest, but the most adaptable. However, that can be rephrased in less stuffy terms as the popular joke that, "Sex is never about survival of the fittest, but the most creative."

    This perspective is also supported by Adrian Bejan's "Constructal Theory" proposed as an amendment to the second law of thermodynamics, which notes that any flow, such as a series of rivers and streams, must either adapt to efficiently accommodate any subsequent flow or be replaced altogether. Evolution can therefore be viewed as sharing our personal truth with subsequent generations and those who are more altruistic tend to thrive or endure longer as well as sharing their genes more with future generations. This was confirmed by a mathematical examination of evolution that showed that, for primitive tribal people at least, the odds of their altruism supporting someone related to them or capable of helping them in return or their own future generations were high enough to make it worth taking chances.
  • Words
    A recent study of how children acquire grammar confirmed that Noam Chomsky was dead wrong and we use pattern matching to acquire grammar rather than inheriting it. The first five neural networks in the brain dedicated to pattern matching have already been mapped out as well. Work done by Alistar Clark has confirmed that most people rely upon merely the simplest two or three patterns for most daily tasks because of the energy intensive nature of the using this method, but the brain should contain eight or more. Anyway, it means there are roughly 4,430 distinctive patterns that can be generated which is certainly large, but definitely finite.
