    Here's another one:

What happens when a double agent becomes a triple agent?
  • Riddle Thread
    Let me offer another hint...

    "A more perfect union"...

How else can that be stated by the Eye of Providence?

Keep on trying. Last poast was interesting.
  • Riddle Thread
    Still not the answer.

    Probably, but not the answer.
  • This is the best of all possible worlds.
Do other people's experience (being) in the world consitute a single possible world apart from others, or do we all live in one world? — Nils Loc

    Both.

More like the one on the back of the dollar bill.

    :sparkle:
  • This is the best of all possible worlds.
Well...you may not be bored...but for certain you are not telling it as a fact. — Frank Apisa

I am telling it as certain as being a solipsist.
  • This is the best of all possible worlds.
    ↪Frank Apisa

No, I am just telling it as a fact.
  • This is the best of all possible worlds.
Thats not an explanation, nor in any way demonstrative of your claim. — DingoJones

Whereof one cannot speak thereof one ought remain silent^.
  • This is the best of all possible worlds.
    Why, because it is(?)
  • This is the best of all possible worlds.
No, you are the one making a claim, its up to you to demonstrate why your claim is true or why we should accept that its true. — DingoJones

    But, the claim is true.

    Are you Kevin Langdon?

    The end-state is not pre-determined. — Gnomon

And what would it take for that to be true?

    Think solipsism...

    The EnFormAction Hypothesis : http://bothandblog3.enformationism.info/page23.html — Gnomon

In a non-deterministic universe that would all be true. But, this isn't a non-deterministic universe, is it?
  • Information Theory and Simulated Realities
PS__I have an information-based theory of state transformations (novel state spaces) in the real world. But it's probably not detailed enough for your needs. — Gnomon

    Please share that too.

    It's real, though...
  • Information Theory and Simulated Realities
I'm into Information theory, but I don't understand the question. — Gnomon

Well, the question is pretty straightforward. If the universe is expanding, then new state spaces are arising and hence information.

I guess the question is whether the universe expands or contracts more rapidly in our universe as opposed to some other one?

So, Trump is committed to bombing Iranian cultural sites which leads to undeniable proof of committing preemptively war crimes.

Truth is, Trump desecrated many years of effort by Obama's administration to convince Iran not to pursue nuclear capability. Quite sad, I think.
  • Donald Trump (All General Trump Conversations Here)
    ↪NOS4A2

Well, didn't Iran give up its nuclear program with the help of Obama's promise of funds and technology regarding nuclear reactors, with Russia supporting this effort by enriching Iran's uranium reserves and sending it back to Iran to be used as fuel for nuclear reactors?
  • Donald Trump (All General Trump Conversations Here)
The more irrational you behave, the greater you effectiveness of destruction in a war scenario.

Thing is, in this case the decision seems entirely irrational, and that's scary.
  • A love so profound.
It happened again, and not in some psychotic fit as I first suspected. I really want to understand this, can someone chime in?
  • It's stupid, the Economy.
I sort of analyzed the issue, and typically, when these sort of things happen, you have massive deflationary spirals arising due to the newfound output at such a lower cost.

The automatic assumption is to assume, the owner of the robot will charge more; but, he or she can only charge as much as it will cost him or her to supply the goods that he or she provides.

  • How do you solve a contradiction?
    2. Type 2 contradiction literally means whatever belief system you're operating from is logically flawed because it's impossible for all the statements that constitute it to be true at the same time. For instance imagine a belief system X composed of statements A, B, and C. If A, B and C are inconsistent with each other the conjunction A & B & C always evaluates to false, is a contradiction of type 2, which means X on the whole is a false belief system. Naturally, we have to discard X. — TheMadFool

Then, how do you correct a faulty belief system, or how do you create one where these contradictions don't arise?
  • How do you solve a contradiction?
    ↪Banno

Well, if I'm in contradiction then it matters if it's about something factual (hence correspondence with respect to the world) or it may be about something that's truth is more malleable or subject to change, like values?
  • How do you solve a contradiction?
    ↪Banno

    Do facts factor in here?

For some reason the correspondence theory of truth deserves a mention of it's 'bout facts.

    But what about values?
  • How do you solve a contradiction?
    ↪Banno

    With regards to what?
  • How do you solve a contradiction?
The problem with values and value systems is that they are often internally contradictory. — NOS4A2

    How so?
  • How do you solve a contradiction?
    ↪NOS4A2

But, what of differing or clashing values that don't correspond with any particular state of affairs in the world, necessarily?
