    Is it a habit, exercise or entertainment?
    A habit (for a few decades now).

    Are you seeking knowledge for its own sake or are you trying to improve your own li[fe] and that of others ...
    I seek to understand what I already know and (reminders) that I do not / cannot know rather than merely acquiring more knowledge. This improves agency (e.g. living my life) by reducing misery (i.e. frustrations of maladaptive judgments / conduct reinforced by fundamental misunderstandings).

    So where is the proof?
    "Proof" pertains to mathematics or logic, not to philosophical practice. That's like asking "where is the proof" of dancing (or contemplation) ...
