Looking for good, politically neutral channels

    Looking for channels (websites, newspaper homepages, youtube channels...) that can be seen as politically neutral, not siding up for left, right, socialism, liberalism or whatever, but trying to map out the problem floras for politically hot, complex topics.

    What is left leaning or right leaning is different in I guess everyones eyes, like the public media in my scandinavian home country (our BBC) that is supposed to be left leaning. I have my own answers to that and do not probably see it as as left leaning as my informed friends from non-academical habitats and not as neutral as my informed friends from academical, progressive habitats.

    But, you who seeks neutral sources and do indeed find such sources, can you pls share?

    Good question.

    In general, I don't know that it's even possible to find a neutral source of information. I don't know that it ever was. I think some sources are more neutral than others, because some people lean into their biases while other people at least try to approach things objectively, but even the latter group are still subject to biases.

    At least, some channels claim to have neutral ambitions. Like our public media. It isn´t, in my opinion, bad at all. BBC, like.
    Unherd is another. I have both neoliberal and socialist friends liking the material published there.

    I would have suggested ap as well but I do think ap has a notable left slant. It's not extreme, and it's harder to notice for us on the left, but it is there.

    I think it's reasonably closer to unbiased than most other news sources though.

    The BBC (as you pointed out) is the answer which comes to my mind, firstly.

    When I was in Scotland, I liked to read "The Scotsman". It is true that it contains different topics, but as much as I remember, there was a clear neutrality in the articles.

    I agree with @Mikie - AP and Reuters are good choices. They are not as obsessed with Trump and generally seem to try to be even handed.

    There is a fallacy called the genetic fallacy where you base the truth of a claim on its origin. Even the National Enquirer (an American tabloid) breaks news. One should be able to assess any claim on its merits rather than on who says it.

    Very interesting. Thanks for sharing it with us. It holds neutral and substantive information. The design of the web page is cool too. I like how in the news says: "From the right" and "From the left", to understand how people see it politically. Instead of manipulating the truth using biased opinions.
    Nonetheless, it only focuses on American topics. I miss more reviews on European matters.

    You're welcome. I find it helpful. There are downsides to the model, but the people who created it seem genuinely interested in trying to provide a means to an unbiased perspective. And yes, it is only about American politics.

    If I want to understand an issue I will generally read articles from both sides, so the quotes and links that flipside provides are an easy entryway into the different perspectives.
