I was going to let my thread about the Great Depression die, but it came up in a Google search. That means it could attract new people if it is attractive. Would my effort to make it attractive be appreciated or should I let it die?

If no one here is going to post in that thread, AI could be used and carry on an argument with myself. Or maybe I could argue with myself without it. I have a few books I can pull off my shelve. To get this thread to be philosophical, I have focused it on morality, intellect, and the Enlightment. I am struggling with it and would appreciate advise.

Go for it. It's an interesting thread.

FYI I moved this to the lounge.

Thanks, I looked for the lounge but couldn't find it. Too much on my mind all at once, shuts my brain down.

I am most concerned about what the people in charge of the forum want. Using AI would make developing a thread by myself much easier. But my next move might be quoting from a book titled "Poverty and Riches" and published around the First World War about why Germany had healthier citizens than Britain, and questioning if taking the British side was the right thing. Capitalism that exploits people, may not be moral, and Socrates said sooner or later those people who are exploited will become a problem to those who exploit them.

As long as you're not copy-pasting from the AI generated message you're using it correctly.

That would not be very useful.

I suppose my thought is that "as long as you're not copy-pasting an entire paragraph" rather than "as long as you're not copy-pasting anything" -- copy-paste what you want as long as its something you are thinking about and arranging.

back to: if I wanted to talk to an AI I can do that. We're wanting to encourage creative thoughts here, whether they are good or bad.

It's the process that's more important than the result.

There may not be a lot of interest in the GD here. I was attracted to the thread because I was born during that time and have vague recollections from pre and early WWII days. I suggest letting it ride the Front Page wave and see if it passes away at the bottom or is revived.

I would really appreciate any corrections to what I am saying about GD, because I was not there. I think for some of us where I live, the recession was like the GD. I risked my life hitchhiking and selling plasma to get through my generation's hard times. I experienced black humor, where the possibility of dying was funny. But I did not live through the GD so I may hold wrong notions about it.

I don't quite understand why, or why the search for advice, but yeah go for it. Filling out threads can only be good - just do not have an AI argument with yourself, or any else. Just be honest.
