Philosophy is "Love of Wisdom" in general.
where Philo means Love and Sophy or Sophia is Wisdom.

in Greek, there are Persons involve when we talk about "love". Philo, Agape and Eros.

    Philo means a friendly love.
    Eros means a lustful love.
    and
    Agape means a divine love.

Why Philo is used in the word Philosophy?. not Erossophy? not Agapesophy?
    any thoughts?

    Hi & welcome to TPF.

Plato in his Phaedrus, analogizes the soul as a chariot, with a charioteer, and two horses, one obedient and the other headstrong.
    Reason....Philo....Wisdom (charioteer)
    Obedient....Agape....The Good (steed)
    Raw Desire....Eros....The Beautiful (steed)

Don't forget about divisions of Eros as conveyed in personified deities.

Pothos (Sehnsucht), desire for the dead or missing, a lack, the unobtainable, the past.

Pothosophy (wandering the necropolis or desert in search of life, wandering the vale of illusion in search for truth or wisdom which is never satisfying, never ceasing, never a sufficient substitute for unmet needs, like other kinds of love)

    Don't fuck with wisdom.
    Don't worship wisdom.
Treat her as a faithful friend.

We use the same word, where the Greeks used different words, but we understand the difference as well as they, so it seems like a disingenuous question, like asking why a husband does not worship his wife. Well he does, hopefully - with his body, as the marriage service puts it - and there is the connection, that explains the use of the same word.
