Exiting Wormhole Prematurely

    Suppose there was a wormhole connecting two points in space A and B. Your ship enters at A. Half way through journey inside the tunnel, your ship suddenly makes a sharp right turn and penetrates the wall of the tunnel and leaves the wormhole - and so failing to complete the full journey to point B Where would your ship end up? Outside the universe, another part of the universe, or the void, whatever this may be? Interestingly, when your ship exits through the wall of the wormhole tunnel, and it does end up in another part of the universe, would it just appear out of nowhere?

    This has been resolved in science fiction stories. If memory serves, exiting a worm hole before you reach the opposite end results in death, so it won't matter to you. Since everybody aboard died, there was no one present to figure out where they were.

    Recommendation: When traveling through worm holes, just sit still and keep your hands off the controls.

    BTW, sharp left hand turns may turn out differently than sharp right hand turns. That is certainly true on the freeway.

    That is one of the advantages of warping space to travel, if you come out of the warp accidental you can still live to find out where you are.

    But there is also dimensional crossover to discuss. This is were you jump from a place in this dimension through a shortcut in another dimension and end up at your destination. This has the advantage of not having to use spaceships because you just sort of have to step sideways through the portal into the other dimension and out the other side without actually moving much. If you somehow managed to misstep in the other dimension I guess that you would be in the same situation of not knowing where you were.
