A bat simply knows when a cat's on the mat
No doubt can enter while being perceived
The bat need not know the fact that they do
For that takes thinking about what's already believed

Bats directly sense both the cat and the mat
They need not tell us that's true
We can figure that out and all by ourselves
Reports from the subject here must be eschewed

'Cause there's no such a thing as a bat that can talk
As a means to confirm what we say
About what's going on in the mind of a bat
    Yet we certainly know anyway

That things such as words don't belong in the mouth
Of a bat or a cat or a shrew
There's no possible way to know what it's like
To be any of the three so I bid adieu

To misguided approaches about what they think
The animals that have no wordplay
Before you can say to another you know
You must first have something to say

A dog simply knows, in excitement it shows.
What it means when you pick up the lead.
And can well be deceived by what is perceived
Through perceptions it's learned how to read.

But the dog doesn't read books oh no it cannot
For like cats a dog has no words
    It's reading what's happening what's going on
    To impune propositional attitude's absurd

A dogs belief is just not linguistic you see
It can be like an expectation
For when we open the food bin it knows
She then jumps around in exhaltation

    Hare Apparent

A dog chased a hare down a path so bent
Until it came to a three way division
It loped one way sniffing for the telltale scent
That would unveil the way the wily hare went

Detecting nothing he sniffed down the next
with still nothing detected, and unperplexed
He ran down the last, without care or deduction
while concerning the hare he remained unvexed

Nice idea, by the way. I hope others respond with more poems.

The point of this rhyme began about truth
A word we've not yet had to speak
'Cause when describing belief of the wordless
It misleads to get in that deep

For one without words cannot think about thoughts
They lack what it takes to do so
    Isolating one's own mental ongoings
Is language being used ya know

My cats without words do expect to be fed
They meet me when I return home
Purring and pushing their body to leg
They lead me straight to their bowl

This shows their belief beyond any doubt
They expect to me to do what I do
Their not looking for food they want the treats
That expectation when met becomes true
