Greetings! ...I hope I am in the right place for this.
My name is Nicklas, I am 20 years old and I have great interest in almost anything related to philosophy or psychology, this especially includes good stories in the form of books or film. However I've had very little luck finding people to share these interests with, particularly so among my peers and therefore I'd really love to find people my own age with similar interests.

Once again I do not know if I'm in the right place for this. If not any help as to where I can look would be much appreciated. Thanks :)

Welcome to the forum. As for people your own age - most of us here are old people. We consider 50 year olds youngsters. Have you looked through the discussions? Did you see anything you're interested in contributing to? Can you live with a certain level of crankiness sometimes sliding over into rudeness? The forum is moderated and the moderators are generally fair and reasonable, but it is assumed you can take care of yourself.

Take a look at the Shoutbox at the top of the front page. That's the place where people mouth off about just about everything without having to meet anything but the minimum standards of civility. You get to see our personalities.

I would recommend looking for some discord channels that suit. There was a guy here who invited people to join book chat thing. Good entry level stuff I think.

Here it is a mixed bag. Sometimes it get ‘philosophical’ sometimes it is like a school playground :D

Have you seen the movies "The Fall", "Badlands", "Tree of Life" or "Koyaanisqatsi" (and two others in the "qatsi" trilogy)?

Welcome to the club. At most human gatherings, philosophers are as popular as wet blankets.

On the bright side, this forum does have special categories for personal interests. Look at the column to the left, labeled "Categories". These may be somewhat less contentious than the more technical philosophical topics. :nerd:

Thanks for the welcome Right now I'm mostly looking for friends, but it is clear this forum has a lot to offer. If ever I feel like exploring or discussing something particular I will definitely come by again. Right now I I'll try my luck with some discords

I have heard of none of them unfortunately. I've mostly been sticking to series, the likes of which include Bojack Horseman, Black mirror and Westworld. I will try googling your suggestions though!

Haha yeah I've unfortunately not won much popularity through philosophy either. You feel pretty cool about being philosophical right up untill you enter a crowd that likes to smalltalk ._. I'll be looking a bit around Discord for people to meet, though I might start exploring here too
