When I saw this title I face palmed.

Desire has always been and always will be the driver of humans,and our desires have a logic to them.

Its Just that some humans are more logical in desires than others.

Philosophy,rationality and science have peddled this total myth that logic is seperate or superior and detachable from desire and emotions.

All the delusional debates and hypothetical on this forum about logic,yet a prime basic axiomatic fundamental truth like desire being primary is still ignored or worse still denied!

To add,zarathustra and zorastranism have similiar concepts of monotheism,judgement and paradise.

And some versions of buddhism especially pure land buddhism have a shambolic land of paradise after death.

Would be interesting to hear what hinduism says about these things.

In the main I fully agree with this. Especially in the implementation of the law.

But the masses also want a legal system for protection,so the rulers and masses feed off each other,with the lions share going to the rulers and the very wealthy.

And,Socrates said philosophy is preparing for death,and the afterlife.

Egyptian philosophy had an impact on socrates thinking,and a huge effect on platos thinking.

I have always loved sports.

The thing is Jack I bet as a child you loved crawling about and play,and that is exactly what sports and dancing are.

It's very strange that anybody could read plato as a whole and come away with anything other than plato being a religious monotheist,with a political message for rulers.

The neoplatonists are really platonists. Maybe those who got disillusioned with official politics or were more inclined to study and mysticism.

Western philosophy,the Christian Church and science are all influenced by platonic thinking.
