  • Is happiness a zero-sum game?
Happiness is a process of evolution. Millionaires kill themselves or waste away thier fortunes. Drug addicts are some of the seemingly happiest people but using dangerous chemicals to be "happy" will eventually leave one bankrupt of mindful capabilities. You have the inbetween conforming like good soldiers to the flame.

This world will push anything that can create wealth or manipulation or both.

Is happiness a combination of being content, simple, ignorant or a genius?

We assume happiness is even more then a word. Happiness could be many words according to the dictionary.

I'm under the humble opinion that happiness is just an idea formulated my insecure people? Perhaps I've never been happy but I know the true zeal I had for life as a child was no fluke but that means happiness is innocence and only achieved in as a child. I see pure happiness in mentally retarded people my Aunt for instance is beautiful, healthy, quick witted and mostly happy and 61 years old but mentally retarded.

Happiness is a choice or an illusion or a slow process brought on by evolution in a seriously fucked up world.

You want "more" "better" or I guess different happiness? Then freeze your body for a million years and hope for the best when woken.

Just my ideas....as simple as they may be.
  • TPF Twitter account
Literally just deleted all 3 thousand followers and started over on my twitter like 2 days ago. Might as well start over with Alistair Robinson as my new best twitter buddy!:)
  • Things at the old place have changed
The current location of SuperAdmin/Eric is interesting. ;)
  • Welcome PF members!
Just wondering if anyone knows whatever happened to wuliheron. I remember when I first joined the old PF he was posting a lot and has not logged in since 2013.
  • Missing features, bugs, questions about how to do stuff
I am still seeing every post that someone posts as a "hour ago" or "two hours" ago when indeed it's in real time. Perhaps, this is because my computer has problems. My pc time always needs to be adjusted. If this is a issue that I am only having then I can deal with it. I got this pc for 5 bucks at a garage sale.
  • Question about costs and donations
Threw a couple bucks your way. Hopefully, cost never has to be a distraction. Thanks, for taking the needed initiative guys creating this place. It was the right path.
  • How will this site attract new members?
To be honest finding new blood will be a group task. My wife has an instragram account with a few hundred followers that I could post a picture/link. We both have facebooks that can be linked along with Twitter. We can try what many are doing by using the old PF along with other Philosophy sites to respectfully share links with. But, even then it will be a slow process as the old PF did not peak for many years.

On the other hand we need to be warm and inviting. Respectful and not flaming towards new people with an open mind. I am not saying put up with trolls, I am just saying for now, you may need to endure some " low quality" and allow some to mature and evolve.

Good cop, bad cop tactics are used towards the same outcome.
  • How will this site attract new members?
It only takes one great idea or break through whether purposed or not by a average poster to over shadow and out do all those whom claim to be high level philosophers. Though, I wish I was a brighter crayon, I can only stay humble and hope the powers that be help my troubled mind find peace is the glaring depression that comes with not knowing.

I just shouted any idea who _will_ is. He has no posts and is and administrator.

I think click on super admin's name and he is viewing my profile.
  • New Owner Announcement at PF
I believe that the admins/mods could reflect on this a bit better aeguilibrium. I don't believe you can see who is banned and who is not unless they start posting in the unmod section. Unless, I am mistaken.

Update. That new guy named VM. US i believe has been banned. All this posts are in the Dumpster and SuperAdmin is currently in the Dumpster. Can't click on VM. US name anymore so I am figuring he is gone. I guess, he is starting with the new people that won't be missed but i am assuming if people don't shut up and stand in line there will be regulars gone sooner then later.

He said he needed to do some work and therefore had to abruptly leave the shoutout box. The work that needed to be done was deleting Sapientia's deleted post in the Dumpster. I am assuming he is done talking but having a good ol' time using his new alter ego as SuperAdmin by using Admin quietly. I am assuming his buddy will have a chat with him and ask he stop digging his own grave and cease fire but like a crack head that got their first taste, I am assuming this will go on for a while.
  • Things at the old place have changed
    Very well said, Shmik.

I am assuming when Paul saw their offer his eyes popped out like the old Cartoons. He deserves it. It was his baby that was his life's work till now. I am sure it was not easy and emotional but it was time and he was ready. He may have jumped the gun a bit. He may not have done his due diligence but he did what was best for him with what was his and the consequences could have been much worse. I think the new owners are slimy, douche-bags. I don't think things will ever be the same unless someone wins the lottery and buy's the site back. I think change is good and I think for all of us here it was what was supposed to happen because it happened.

Lmao, I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but these guys are dirty, liars, already. They are claiming they don't censor anything "only slander" but anyone reading The dumpster under feedback and plainly see they are censoring anything remotely negative about them or controversial or deleting anything that has a question attached to it they don't wanna answer. And who the fuck calls themselves SUPERADMIN? Sounds like a kid that just got his shot at admin at 12 years old. I agree with your points this buy will give them the opportunity for damage control. I don't know how much of a threat they are. They got caught and seem very noob when it comes to forums, ect. I just think that Mr SuperAdmin is going to get a chub off his new powers to be and will probably be changing the rules to suit his own egotistical need for power and control. I can see it already. But...who knows. Lol. Just my thoughts.
  • What draws people to an online forum anyway?
Well, it seems as though someone may have Pm'd all the people in the unmoderated section this new websites link. Good luck Mods! ;)
  • What draws people to an online forum anyway?

Pot calls Kettle? I am pretty sure all of this could have been done in a PM. Though, it seems you may have more of a deeper issue with Tiff to go out of your way to try and publicly shame her for doing the exact same thing you are now doing.
  • Welcome PF members!
Can you elaborate on what puzzle pieces are not making sense to you? I'd be interested in what people are thinking now.
  • Missing features, bugs, questions about how to do stuff
Also, when i created my name I put spaces in between each word in which when the e-mail was sent to my inbox it says:

    Hello The,

You have successfully created an account at The Philosophy Forum. You can access the site at http://thephilosophyforum.com/

    Regards,
    The Philosophy Forum Team

This is minor. I don't even know if this can be fixed but just thought I would post a comment on it.
  • What draws people to an online forum anyway?
From my past experience with gaming servers (though the standards are going to be different I am sure here) it is very important at first to be very relaxed in the moderation. Recruit anyone and everyone and build up the popularity which will drive more people to want to come. Slowly weed out the trouble makers. I would of course ban spammers and trolls but I would be more sensitive with the low quality bans. Just my insight. People wont wont to come or stay if they feel threatened that moderators are ruling with an iron fist and it may give the forums some what of a bad reputation. Just my thoughts.
  • Welcome PF members!
I never changed my 4 number password on the old PF and never had any trouble. If someone wants to single me out and spend hours trying to guess mine, go for it. I'd only say that any admins or moderators should make sure they have a secure password and change it every so often.
  • Welcome PF members!
What's up, I think you all are doing the right thing. I look forward to being behind the scenes listening to the all the dudes/Gals, I enjoyed reading on the old site. I don't mind admitting my low level. I will chime in where I feel comfortable. I wish this site the best of luck! ~ Nathan
