BTW - why (and I quote) "We would have to have a definition of both terms....."

Crikey Monitor - maybe tomorrow I will pop round (within 2 m) and ask this 70+ farmer what he actually meant? I can guarantee you it was not about any golf swing. I guess being a farmer in Devon England (you are so American!) it may have been past personal struggles that he was referring to. I work in the agricultural industry and I find that very often farmers have wonderful wisdom. I put this down to the solitary nature of their job plus their continued solidarity with nature, weather and immediate environment. I welcome your thoughts.
  • Does anything truly matter?
You are missing the point of our pointless lives my dear friend! and there are high chances that if you are continuing to question "does anything truly matter" suggests that you have not yet found something that does 'matter' to you? I say of course it does! Everything matters to us individually - thus creating us as individuals. Please find something that does matter to you.

Why do you need definition? That's the whole point!
  • Moral Virtue Vs Moral Obligation
This post caught my eye as is fabulous topic & something I find so curious. I think everyone needs to (& will at some point) experience a Moral v Virtue decision in their lives. However, this may be beyond theory, simply as we can all react unpredictably when faced with emotionally heavy issues. I believe people have both a moral and virtuous view on life. The difference that I see is that morals are handed down to you as rules; whereas virtue you learn & develop for yourself.
