  • The Case for Karma
Not sure karma exists but if you want to hear an amazing story, one which may be an inspiration for those who believe.. anyway, so I went to Qld, for those who don't know where that is, it's a state in Australia, long way way from my joint. So I get home and realise my house has been robbed. The usual things had been stolen, televisions, jewellery, fine arts.. nah just joking I don't own fine arts, although if I had the money I know of some pieces I'd like to own.. getting bit of track, must be the natural storyteller in me. So. Couple weeks later after night on the town, early in the morning, I'm sitting at a convenience store waiting for my mate to come out of the store with two sallad rolls, he jumps in and says to me, hey Tomi the car behind us just asked me if we could possibly give them a jump start, being really early and exhausted from the night out I reluctantly look behind me to see what I'm dealing with here when I happen to notice one of the passengers was wearing a jacket that was strikingly similar to the one I just bought on my Holliday to Qld. So. I'm like, bro he's wearing my jacket, mates like what? I said, the jacket the guys wearing in the front seat, that's my jacket. Long story short, my mates soccer coach was a policeman who happens to live around the corner, we go there having remembered the number plate of the vehicle in question, knock on the door... ... ... Car happens to be stolen an hour ago, policeman hops in my car, drive back to the convenience store with other police on the way... Ends up being my jacket that guy was wearing, I know this because I wrote my name on the tag, I don't know why, everyone has something, my something is clothes, I put my my name on my tag. So they get busted go to prison I assume... Again I'm not sure I believe in karma, but you decide
  • Question
I'm new to the forum, philosophy in a technical sense anyway, umm. Wow . It amazes me how phylosiphical topics, well some anyway can be debated to an extent that you even forget what the topic was even about after thirty odd pages or so. What do my fellow phylosophers . Wait a sec. Scrap what I just said. Forget I was even here. My oppogies.
  • Question
My question is why are we different?
  • Satanist religions... Anything interesting here?
Gurk, getting a feeling and what is fact are different things.
  • Free will and Evolution
Iv heard that people eating dead bats in China is what started the whole corona virus. But you can never believe totally what you hear I suppose
  • Free will and Evolution
Not sure I follow you batsushi7, what is absolute freewill in you're opinion? I know it's off topic but I'm intrigued by your profile name? Batsushi7? Cool name, what's it inspired by? It seems very suggestive
  • Ethics of Vegetarianism/Meat Eating
Well, I won't eat my dog or my neighbours cat because I feel it's wrong, I believe there are some topics that will never be agreed by everyone involved, like ethics of vegetarianism and eating meat. Both vegetarianism and eating meat are legal, for me personally, I'll eat a cow or a pig only if it's slaughtered humanely and will stop when the cow or pig actually say can you not eat me please as I have things to do tomorrow
  • What has philosophy taught you?
It has taught me to not believe everything until it's my truth which then isn't a philosophy anymore. My belief is that it shouldn't consume you, if it's not fun anymore then I just stop pondering untill If and when I would like to continue. I'm loving this forum though, and everyone's thoughts. It's a nice escape while I'm under lock down.
  • Free will and Evolution
Firstly I'd like to say hello to all here, so hello. I'm a newbie, six hours or so.. forgive my punctuation or lack their of. Iv never studied philosophy, or in school anyways, but I think freewill's main objective is the ability to take or not to take someone else's life by choice. If you weren't able to do this because you yourself would automatically blow up at the mere thought of taking someone's life then wouldn't we be governed in a really obvious way. For me this is where freewill shows all its cards. In saying this iv enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts on the topic, not that I understand everything completely.
