    Is there a way we can change our modern beliefs in science in order to change the world today?

    The belief that modern science is in pursuit of universal truths seems to result in the sentiment that its progression is, if not benevolent, inevitable. Just as premodern Truths mobilized prevailing armies and colonizers, modern Truths mobilize the production of prevailing technologies. Given the current trajectory of science and technology, I think there is a possibility that our faith in a haphazardly financed science will be eclipsed by trust in a well-constituted economic order that credits a plurality of social entrepreneurs, each with scientific agendas constrained by a nonviolent contest for economic power.
  • Post truth
    No doubt, every successful civilization was predicated on Truths, and that the concept of universal truth has proven indispensable within the context of violent competition between civilizations. My concern is that if violent competition between civilizations is no longer sustainable, how will Truth oriented people tolerate the cultural variation necessary to cultural innovation? An unstructured post-truth politics is defiantly a dead end. However, one could imagine that if our species is to transition from violent competition between groups to non-violent competition between groups, a well-constituted post-truth politics will be key.
  • What is the most utopian society possible?
    With respect to maximizing human welfare/collaboration into the foreseeable future, utopia looks to me like a constitutional credit system that successfully optimizes for cultural variation and nonviolent cultural evolution. I'm less clear on the details of how to get from here to there. It might entail the constitution of a global credit union and currency that ultimately prevails in circulation over national currencies and commodities because it reliably distributes credit to a plurality of popular prosocial entrepreneurs, thus denying antisocial entrepreneurs and consumers access to credit and power over the lives of others.
