• Can you start philosophy without disproving scepticism?
    Still no clearer...John

A theory of everything is coming in the near future and, according to all the evidence, it will be a pragmatic Contextualist philosophy that will establish that classical philosophies and metaphysics are actually pragmatic as well according to all the physical evidence.
  • Can you start philosophy without disproving scepticism?
I'm sorry Woolly Heron, I don't have any clue as to what you are talking about.John

While the positivists and others have claimed they will usher in the next scientific revolution it is the Contextualists and newer disciplines such as fuzzy logic and Fractal Geometry who are invading every branch of the sciences and steadily building up a new tool kit for the next scientific revolution. The next generation computers are the last piece of the puzzle that will make most traditional metaphysical approaches outdated.

Socrates was the father of modern academic philosophy who changed the course of academia from largely focusing on metaphysical arguments like Zeno to focusing more on developing logic and ethics. The problem holding things up so far has been the full development of logic based on first principles, but that will soon be resolved and there will be no way to deny which logic or ethics are more applicable when they conform to all the physical evidence. Systems logic, as many have claimed for decades now, is the future of both philosophy and the sciences.
  • Can you start philosophy without disproving scepticism?
There seems to be no answer as to how pragmatism can actually be of any philosophical importance and become something more than merely a kind of heuristic formula for understanding the nature of the methodology of science. As soon as we necessarily become involved in trying to understand how holding beliefs can be justified by their usefulness to us in more than merely practical ways, we become involved in questions of truth in senses that go well beyond any merely pragmatic understanding of truth.John

The answer is blowing in the wind, because quantum mechanics is a pragmatic science and the next generation supercomputers will illuminate the entire situation in ways that no mere words can. The Contextual sciences have already been succeeding in planting the seeds of the next scientific revolution, while traditional approaches have all failed miserably. It is the end of metaphysics as we know them which is what Wittgenstein pointed out was coming and what Socrates railed against. It means philosophy that isn't founded on ethics will become a contradiction in terms even according to the physical evidence.
  • Can you start philosophy without disproving scepticism?
What is the purpose behind westernized pragmatism (Peirce, James, Dewey)? In what sense are we to see theories as "useful", i.e. to what end? Is truth simply equivalent to what is useful, or is usefulness the best method of obtaining truth in the correspondence sense of knowledge? If the latter, then pragmatism seems to become more of a methodology than a metaphysical theory of knowledge itself.darthbarracuda

Socrates said, "Know thyself" and championed the Truth above all else. Wittgenstein and pragmatists like him are all part of the Socratic tradition. Without a personal truth and authenticity there is nothing to discuss and nothing to be done about it whether you consider yourself a pragmatist or not.

Or they could just stop being criminals? Wtf man? Executing cops because you're getting arrested for breaking the law is never viable. What do you even mean "the peaceful approach"? Black people should be allowed to commit crimes and face no concequences? And if this doesn't happen the viable response is to murder cops?dukkha

My own family is Irish Catholic and knows what the score is. When we immigrated to this country we became gang members and crooked cops. When Lincoln freed the slaves the Irish Catholic hung a few in NYC and rioted because they didn't need the competition for the lowest paying jobs. My family is all too familiar with want adds in the paper saying ICNNA which is Irish Catholics Need Not Apply. Bigotry runs deep and the US has just elected a bigot as president in response to Obama. Its war and this one is just getting started. You get the justice you can either afford or what can be taken at the end of a gun.

My great grandmother was a half breed and when she was conceived her mother and father both moved out west to get away from bigotry. They settled outside a town and a few months later the white boys came around and said he could stay, he could keep his squaw, but the kid had to go. When they moved to the reservation a few months later the local boys told them the same. In Vietnam countless half breed children where never claimed by either side. Complain all you like, but you can kill a man economically just as easily as shooting him in the head and the poor are fighting back.

If you or I did the things Trump and Hillary did we would be in jail. The moral high ground doesn't cut it when money does all the driving and even your constitutional rights have been suspended indefinitely. Something the IRA took to heart and won serious concessions for, while Germany needed their Hitler to pound home the error of their evil ways.
  • Islamic sociological problem or merely a Quran problem?
Fundamentalists of any kind tend to use the pulpit as a political stump. They tend to represent more rural views and how rural people everywhere have fended off the encroachment of civilization. Money does crazy things to people and the Beverly Hillbillies often don't thrive when money moves into their neighborhood and takes their land away by eminent domain or whatever. A simple memory centric systems logic similar to the way chickens organize and culturally enforced allows them to leverage any strength in numbers, but the price is steep by any measure. In the US now the rural populations are dwindling and Obama was elected when, for the first time, the urban population outnumbered the rural.
  • Islamic sociological problem or merely a Quran problem?
The gun and the money do almost all the talking worth listening to just about everywhere in the world and popular religions merely reflect their socio-economic political realities. In general, different religions support different things and Christianity's strong point is it supports capitalism which is one reason long avowed atheists in China are now converting to Christianity in record numbers. Islam has proven especially popular in the developing world using the argument that without something like sharia law neither atheist communism nor laze fare capitalism can provide the poor with anything like a real sense of community.

Notably, in the developed world once a country starts providing a comprehensive security net for their population people abandon organized religion overnight like yesterday's news and start to actually do a bit of charitable work to support their own governments. Meanwhile, in the US psychiatrists have long argued that fundamentalism of any kind meets their criteria for a mental disorder and, I would argue, that militant atheism and communism do as well. What is required to end the insanity is for governments to elevate their own populations or their populations to demand serious changes. In Sweden they made child abuse or even degrading a child in public illegal by public referendum without the politicians getting involved other than to offer different resources.

So far, 32 countries have made it illegal to hit or strike a child, while the wealthiest country in the world still has the worst social record in every regard and is by far the most religious in the developed world. Money is doing all the driving, while the fundamentalists keep arguing the rest of the world is their problem and the worst social problems inside the US are all in the Bible Belt. That's the same problem that was documented as the cause for the rise of Nazi Germany, religion and culture promoting everyone capitulating to authority whether it be religious or government.
  • Putin's Breakthrough in Political Ideology: the new Komintern
So? How is it of any help that you have such a large military when you have to cross the god-damn ocean? Nobody would bother to attack the US. That's not the question here. Russia would obviously not attack the US on US territories - that would be crazy. And the same holds true the other way around - the US wouldn't dare attack Russia on Russian territory - because they would cripple themselves.Agustino

LOL, that's what Saddam Hussein thought when he invaded Kuwait which was a country that didn't even exist until the US set it up specifically to pump oil out from under his ass and sell it at cut rate prices. Get it straight, we control the entire world economy and tell everyone what they can and can't sell to whom at what price. The Soviet Union's economy failed in the first place because they wouldn't play ball and, if necessary, we will invade and nobody in the world will shed a single tear. In the meantime, Russia is rapidly dwindling in influence and power and has barely started to rebuild their economy again, while we've been supporting the Chinese building up their's for half a century. Guess who would help the US invade Russia?

Either Russia learns how to play nice and accepts their role in the empire or they will get nowhere and, if necessary, we will invade because the money has taken on a life of its own. Within twenty years commercial fishing will no longer be possible because there won't be enough wild fish in the oceans, within fifty every wild land animal larger than a dog will either be extinct or only exist in zoos. If you think sanity has anything to do with international politics and money think again. Russia is large enough it may survive what is coming, but the idea of them being able to do more than give the US a hard time in places like Syria is ludicrous.
  • What will Putin ask for?
Ehm not really - they didn't lose anything. They have actually gained by breaking up at that moment in time and opening to the outside world.Agustino

They are not the Soviet Union anymore and are fighting people inside what where their old borders, but please feel free to claim they are stronger than ever.
  • Learning > Knowledge
A newer argument is that authenticity is the issue rather than knowledge. Without authenticity the brightest lights can be left on because nobody is ever actually home. All the knowledge in world cannot do anyone a damned bit of good if its wielded by the next Adolf Hitler or Three Stooges. All of which reflects the fact one of the current areas of intense research is figuring out how memory works. Without memories there's nothing to discuss and nothing to be done about it, but the same is true for when you rely too heavily upon memory and have no real awareness of your situation. Without a personal truth you might as well be talking to the nearest wall, hence, Socrates urged everyone to "Know thyself".
  • Are philosophers trying too hard to sound smart?
Looking foolish is anathema among academics who have spent thousands of years thriving by promoting themselves as no-nonsense workaholics and suppressing their own sense of humor in favor of searching for greater truth and beauty. Its not so much that they try to sound intelligent, as they bend themselves into pretzels attempting to avoid looking foolish because their tradition is to pound away at the excluded middle and anyone foolish enough to get caught in the middle can get pounded into the dirt. Which is why Copernicus only published his theory on his deathbed and Max Planck begged his colleges to explain the joke. When money does all the driving nobody is steering and its Three Stooges slapstick all the way. The nail that stands out gets pounded down hard which also explains why Einstein had a third rate job as a clerk only thanks to his roommate's father taking a liking to him.
  • Putin's Breakthrough in Political Ideology: the new Komintern
Rubbish. The US military is equal to the next six or seven largest in the world combined and the US dollar underscores practically every economy in the world. Eastern Europe couldn't fight its way out of a wet paper bag and the only thing the Russians care about is themselves and using Eastern Europe as a buffer zone between them and the next Adolf Hitler or Genghis Khan. So far Russia has managed to ward off invaders throughout the eons thanks to their horrible winters, but technology is rapidly catching up with robots that couldn't care less about the cold.

That's been the problem with Russia all along is that they have tremendous resources, but no real boarders to protect all that wealth and, often, no way to exploit the wealth. Siberia is just no place to be and automation is rapidly making even places like Afghanistan more accessible which has a trillion dollars worth of mineral wealth just waiting to be exploited. No need to control all the idiots running around with AK 47s when robots can fly right up to them and blow up in their faces or Predators can just bomb them from high altitude. The locals can fight among themselves all they want, while the robots can do the mining and police foreign interests.

Trump showing interest in Russian affairs is simply a sign that the technology is catching up and its almost time to exploit more Russian wealth. It also happens to coincide with US politics, but I think he's jumping the gun a bit early myself. The Pentagon has plans to put 30-40 thousands drones in the ocean, the biomechanics for robots have largely been worked out, but it will still be another twenty years before the technology starts to mature. The AI is now the newest big push in the industry and once the damned things have serious brains it means there's no place on earth anyone can hide.
  • What will Putin ask for?
Putin is nothing more than a petty dictator with an overblown ego and any ambitions for bringing back the Soviet Union are nothing more than your average dictator's pipe dream. He knows the minute he attempts to do so the US will throw all the money and resources it has towards opposing his efforts and the satellite states will fight him to the bitter end. That's why the Soviet Union fell apart in the first place, is they could no longer control the territory they had conquered which is the history of Russia going back thousands of years.

Nor does he have a hope in hell of dissolving NATO. The US is the wealthiest country in the world, the largest exporter, and our largest manufactured export being weapons. We sell 40% of the weapons sold anywhere in the world and pay half the costs for NATO and the UN. Europe couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag without US support because its empire baby and this train ain't stopping until she derails. Putin is simply pissed off that he was never invited to feast at the table and the Chinese, Russia's age old enemies, are starting to gain on him.

He wants a place at the table and any advantage he can get. Technologically Russia is about to be left behind in the dark ages if they don't establish themselves as more than a talent pool for other countries to recruit from. They have tremendous resources, but at the rate automation is going they won't be able to make any real use of them to their advantage because the US controls all the markets. That's how empires work, is by controlling the distribution of goods. We control the weapons and everyone else coughs up whatever we want at the prices we demand. In fact, the US dollar underscores practically every economy in the world and we decide what anyone's money is worth.
  • Why I don't drink
Again, the data you provide is false, wrong, and nonsense. Show me 1 actual inmate who was sentenced to 7 years in prison for simple pot possession. When I was a prosecutor in the 90s, I think the typical sentence was $300, the cost of a speeding ticket.Hanover

Again, I said they were harmless potheads, not that they were imprisoned for pot possession. Most were convictions for trafficking. Tommy Chong, of Cheech and Chong fame, was given nine months for selling pipes. Its a culture war where the rich get richer and poor poorer, while alcohol is involved in the vast majority of violent crimes, is addictive, and has serious health hazards, yet, is sold legally on any street corner. Those with money want everyone else violent and divided which is why we now have riots in the streets and people executing cops.
  • Why I don't drink
My position is that they were harmless potheads, not that they were imprisoned just for smoking pot. These people are being given an average of 88 months, which is close to the average for murder, even though most of them have never been incarcerated before, are over 40, and don't even own a gun. Meanwhile, the Wall Street bankers who committed outright fraud and destroyed millions of people's lives are never going to see a day in jail.
  • Why I don't drink
I don't buy the notion that what's causing the disproportionate rates of drug arrests between blacks and whites is simply racist cops. There's many other more plausible explanations. Black people are far over represented in nearly all categories of crime. So if black people are commiting more crime (a lot more) on average than white people, this means there's a far higher chance for a black person to be arrested on an unrelated matter, or to have dealings with police.dukkha

The cops are not necessarily racist, they are simply doing their job which, unfortunately, today means racial profiling. They are deliberately targeting blacks because cops get promoted according to how many successful busts and convictions and courts are more likely to convict a black man. Nor is it illegal for them to do so and it doesn't mean that the courts are overwhelmingly racist, it means they are racially biased and they are promoting racist policies and racist policing.

Its money doing all the driving because the lights are on, but nobody is home. Blacks rioting in the streets and executing cops is the only viable way they have of making the war too expensive to continue. They already tried the peaceful approach and look what's happened as a result.
  • Why I don't drink
They were not outrageously false, but certainly a bit exaggerated. Instead of one in five it is one in eight federal prisoners. Statistics also support the idea it is merely a culture war with the war on drugs achieving no success whatsoever since Ronald Reagan first proposed it. As the Norml statistics also indicate, the potheads they are arresting are often over 40 years old, have never been incarcerated, and don't own a gun. You are more likely to be arrested for smoking pot than for committing a violent crime.

Huffington Post did another article on the issue that shows how drugs are the single largest reason for incarceration, while white collar crimes go virtually unpunished. The poor and working class know damned well what is going on which is why as the war on drugs has escalated people are now executing cops and rioting in the streets knowing there is no justice in or out of court, while the middle class merely shakes their heads wondering "Why can't we all just get along?" and vote with their wallets like good little drones.
  • Why I don't drink
For a decriminalized substance its still responsible for 45% of all drug related arrests and our new attorney general is quoted as saying he thought the KKK was OK until he found out they smoked pot. The sad fact is its a culture war promoted for the sake of keeping the poor poor and rich rich with the middle class selling their souls to the devil.

    http://norml.org/news/2015/11/12/report-one-in-eight-federal-drug-prisoners-serving-time-for-marijuana-offenses

The war on drugs has not reduced the consumption of drugs, yet the war goes on with the US creating the largest prison population in the history of planet.
  • Metaphysical Solipsism Justified by Extreme Luck
What's to elaborate on? If the self is all that there is to be known then both good luck and bad luck reflect ourselves and the simplest explanation is always the most attractive because it is both the simplest and our own.
  • Metaphysical Solipsism Justified by Extreme Luck
With solipsism a paradoxical version of Occam's Razor applies that the simplest explanation is both correct and incorrect and, as a result, more often either extremely productive or counterproductive. In other words, they not only have to justify good luck, but bad luck as well.
  • Why I don't drink
You were off by 200x with the number you provided of 20%. It would be extremely uncommon to find a simple marijuana user in prison, considering simple possession is a misdemeanor in most jurisdictions and prison is reserved for felons. The percentage in county jails is .7%, 25x less than the number you provided.Hanover

Trust the medical profession to play with numbers in a "nonpartisan" manner.

    https://www.aclu.org/gallery/marijuana-arrests-numbers

"According to the ACLU’s original analysis, marijuana arrests now account for over half of all drug arrests in the United States. Of the 8.2 million marijuana arrests between 2001 and 2010, 88% were for simply having marijuana. Nationwide, the arrest data revealed one consistent trend: significant racial bias. Despite roughly equal usage rates, Blacks are 3.73 times more likely than whites to be arrested for marijuana."

They are using marijuana as an excuse to bust people and then trump up charges. We had one cop in Norfolk VA who was caught and the city had to review over 430 busts he made. They are PIGS who the billionaire mayor of NYC had arrest 26 reporters in one day. That's why just yesterday there were four cases across the country of people executing cops in broad daylight without provocation. When there is no justice in or out of court cops are just mafia hired thugs and judges are merely the dons. In fact, that's how the mafia was first established in Italy, when their judicial system became so corrupt inventing their own brand of justice became more attractive.

Hippies like to argue that if you must do recreational drugs its better to do ones that don't tend to make you do stupid things, aren't addictive, are not associated with violence, and don't ruin your body. Some twenty percent of the people in prison in the US are potheads that even most cops say are not hardened criminals and shouldn't be there. Its really just culture wars along the same lines as blacks being incarcerated at eight times the rates of whites.
  • Is consciousness created in the brain?
The entire mind and brain obey pattern matching which means consciousness is as much a physical as it is a mental process and the question is like asking if a race car works without gas. Exactly where the mental and physical overlap is the issue and experiments have already established that the brain and mind routinely substitute for one another at their most fundamental level of organizing. Its what is known as a neuromorphic design where what is software and hardware becomes context dependent.

That's pretty much par for the course in any country. You join the military and Uncle Sam owns your ass. You can't even legally get a tatoo or cut your hair some funky way without being subject to the UCMJ. The reason is that "Ours is not to question why, our's is just to do or die" when on the front lines. You jump when they tell you too and duck as well and if you can't trust those in charge they may wind up dead.
  • Western and Eastern philosophy
Western philosophy is better for elegant simplicity and easier error correction, while Asians do better with the humble simplicity of systems logic which can be more creative. The more logical aesthetic approach of a Mr Spock verses the humble earthy simplicity of Yoda. In fact, the genre of poetry I write is popular worldwide with even physicists writing their own and combines all sorts of metaphors including Star Trek and Star Wars characters and popular music lyrics and, of course, Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz all summed up by Yogi Berra and Its a Mad, Mad, Mad World. Qpid plays a central role in the poetry and the metaphors are all agreed upon because its a collaborative artform and everyone pretty much knows what works best because its all mathematical.

Very different from a metaphysical approach it uses more of a top-down metaphorical approach that can juggle metaphors for any humble and elegant simplicity because it can treat every word as a variable with no intrinsic meaning or value. In fact, some of the poems are famous for being normally beautiful and hilarious when read in specific contexts. Even the shapes of the poems are incidental to the mathematics and, for example, some are in the shapes of mushrooms, toilets, or whatever simply because of the fractal mathematics and not intentionally. The Chinese play with them as refrigerator magnets shuffling them around to make different shapes including a man and a woman that can have sex simply because it is incidental to everything in existence obeying supersymmetry and pattern matching. Makes String theory look a bit too two dimensional in comparison because everything being metaphorical means even the forces of nature can be considered to display social and anti-social tendencies. The walls can literally talk and everything gets curiouser and curiouser as you attempt to decide which are the characters and which the stage props lending everything a more existentialist style of humor.

Notably, Microsoft has just announced their intention to build the first topological quantum computer. A universal recursion in the law of identity means a metaphorical scalar theory should apply to everything. Their computer will use two dimensional "anyons" whose world lines pass around one another to form three dimensional "braids".
  • The relationship between abortion and mass production and slaughter of animals
So you think that this issue is more important to consider from an economic standpoint instead of moral?MonfortS26

There are many moralities, but few that ever focus on their own economic roles in society. In the US we like to say we have the best justice that money can buy because morality is not our strong point as a nation. Conservative complain nonstop about abortion, but seldom adopt children or even vote to support those in need. In fact, the Bible Belt has the worst statistics and spends all their time blaming everyone else. If no one addresses the economic issues the problem will never be addressed constructively.
  • I want to be a machine
A machine that no one has built doesn't exist. A machine that someone isn't responsible for according to the law doesn't exist. Call all of existence a machine without a creator and you are merely playing with semantics.
  • I want to be a machine
Anyone joining the military is automatically considered property of the state. They can legally do anything they want with you because you are no longer considered just another human being. A machine without an owner is a contradiction in terms.
  • The relationship between abortion and mass production and slaughter of animals
People often argue that a fetus is a human life and that all human life should be valued equally. I don't see how we as a society could do that. More specifically I don't see any logically justifiable reason to hold human life to a higher importance than all life. The concept of all human life being equal but more important than lower intelligence life is ridiculous. To me the logical step is to make a value hierarchy for all life. Obviously a fetus would be lower on that than the woman carrying it. Any thoughts?MonfortS26

Johnathan Swift, author of "Gulliver's Travels", wrote a scathing sarcastic newspaper editorial suggesting that the solution to the "Irish Problem" (the potato famine) was to eat Irish babies. The English landlords had created the problem in the first place by raising rents so high the peasants could only survive by growing almost nothing but potatoes which was a recipe for disaster when a blight struck their crops. Anyway, Swift proposed that it was every Englishman's duty to eat Irish babies and help solve the crisis and for his efforts he received several thousand letters asking where they could buy their babies and find recipes.

The issue is economic and has little to do with anything else. For thousands of years Chinese peasants used to abandon female newborns on the side of the road as useless baggage that could not help support their family. Yet, a female anthropologist was once asked by a primitive tribe she was studying what her birth control pills were for and they where shocked. The entire village surrounded her asking why she didn't like babies. Birth control and abortion were unknown to them and the idea that anyone would not want as many babies as they could have was simply strange and inconceivable because money was just as unheard of as well.

Notably, the US is the wealthiest country in the world and those complaining about abortion the loudest are in the Bible Belt which has the worst social record in a country with the worst social record in the developed world. In other words, those complaining the loudest are the ones with the highest rates of abortion and who support the capitalistic system the most.
  • What do you live for?
So you say... yet by your own admission, a justification hasn't been found and is, by the plurality of truths of the living, impossible. (e.g it makes no more sense to say I live for happiness than it does my little toe).TheWillowOfDarkness

Wrong, by my admission they justify themselves. Other than using analogies, I can no more explain how they justify themselves then I can explain color to a blind man. But I can assert that those who claim they don't justify themselves are living in denial and use a pragmatic approach to prove the point.
  • What do you live for?

The self-evident truth only asserts itself within the silent void that the truth determines everything including justifying itself because virtue is its own reward and wonder is the beginning of wisdom. Humor, beauty, love, and life must ultimately justify themselves if they are to be true.
  • Who here believes in the Many World Interpretation? Why or why not?
Thanks! I took a question over to physics forum and made what I consider an original discovery. This is that the interference pattern in the double-slit experiment is not rate-dependent. In other words, whether the protons are fired singly or as a beam, makes no difference to the interference pattern. So that means that the interference is not dependent on time and space. Which suggests to me that the so-called 'wave function' is not something in time or space either.Wayfarer

The wave-function is the Face of God, or the Greater Context of the Truth if you prefer, that which none may know in all its glory. It is where the context and content meet with their identities becoming conflated and indeterminate. That's why for all practical purposes photons express the same behavior as their own shadows being instantly absorbed and emitted and displaying no preference even mathematically for any direction in space or time. Its a question of how humble their contents and contexts are relative to the observer which is why both shadows and quanta can express apparently acausal behavior. It means they should be measurable for both bandwidth potentials using differentials and juxtapositions for integrals that, combined, form a self-organizing system.

  • Why the shift to the right?
Its empire baby, and this train ain't stopping until she derails. Trump being friendly with the Russians is just an acknowledgement that the empire is growing and you can't play cutthroat poker with China alone. We've built up the Chinese infrastructure as fast as possible, while the Russians have always had their own and by playing the three off of one another the monkey can chase the weasel forever. In the wild west cutthroat poker is always played with guns and the US has the serious firepower at this table. Your money is only worth what the guy with the gun says its worth, but you still require growth and progress in order to maintain that position. You can describe it as a dysfunctional relationship resembling the Three Stooges comedy and Trump embodies that equation.

Of course, academics have been increasingly complaining that Three Stooges and high tech don't mix, but academics have never been famous for their sense of humor.
  • What is intuition?
It looks as I read the thread that wuli has the physiological reasons for "intuition" and Cheryl, MJA and my thoughts are what "intuition" looks like when it is playing out.

Welcome to The Philosophy Forum MJA!
    ArguingWAristotleTiff

In a universal recursion of the law of identity everything including our intuition would obey pattern matching and the first five pattern matching neural networks have already been mapped in the brain. They're much larger than I thought they would be and science documenting them means it will become possible within decades at most for modern science to follow Alice down the rabbit hole into Wonderland. They've also taken real time movies of our neurons changing their connections as they dance with one another like so many ribbons balled up in knots constantly re-configuring themselves. Its an analog design where what is the brain and what is the mind becomes context dependent because the two are actually indivisible at some fundamental level and can substitute for one another.

More fundamentally, the implication is that the human mind and brain and evolution itself are all creative engines that only superficially resemble computers. Our subconscious mind and conscious mind as well appear to generate all sorts of gibberish playing around with different patterns and the more harmoniously our conscious and subconscious minds can share a gentle sense of humor and aesthetic appreciation the better they can communicate. Everything being context dependent means which is our conscious and unconscious mind is also context dependent and part of the same pattern matching ruling the universe. It also explains why the brain is such a slow computer that still easily out perform others because its more creative and creativity and destruction are the root of existence itself that promotes a Conservation of Creativity and Efficiency.
  • What is intuition?
Intuition arises from the intrinsic self-organizing systems logic caused by everything being context dependent for our body and neurons. It can be described as analog logic that, among other things, expresses the most mindless toddler humor because everything revolves around what's missing from this picture or what is known as pattern matching. Alistair Clark has done pioneering work in this direction as has Yogi Berra.
  • What do you live for?
wouldn't the engine off but assembled be the lowest energy state, or if not 1rpm?intrapersona

Any system obeys the principle that it requires significant content and a greater context which, combined, enforces a Conservation of Creativity and Efficiency. A black hole, for example, has no observable or even conceivable surface and its humble identity makes it the most efficient for anything its size at distributing any mass, energy, and information. In fact, black holes are largely responsible for the distribution of the visible universe. Because of the conservation of Creativity and Efficiency, the neurons in our brains obey the same principle and are also the most efficient at conveying any mass, energy, and information.
