Another thing to consider is "thou shall strenghen the hand of the poor" (not government handouts). Matthew chapters 5, 6 and 7 emphasize that the old testament law and the prophets were still important.

Paul was writing a letter to Christians who suffered. Read 1st Corinthians chapter 3. Righteousness is temporary and we should assume Paul was the greatest but that Paul was the greatest for finite periods of time. Righteousness is temporary and 1st Corinthians chapter 3 (KJV) should provide some clarity to what you are saying. The NIV supports rape while the KJV does not. If you prefer the NLT that is fine too. The NLT is typically more accepted by modern churches. I suppose this discussion will digress into Women issues and White supremacy and all that stuff. oh well. Sometimes the only way to state you accomplished something is for you to state you accomplished something. Even Women state they've accomplished things at times. Truth is a strange thing about whether we should state it or not. In our modern society People "call a spade a spade" all the time. Paul's righteousness was over a finite period of time and we should take into account 1st Corinthians chapter 3 (KJV). As for Jesus Christ he obeyed over 600 laws his whole adult life (including "your heart shall not be above the hearts of your brethen") and he obeyed his superiours in his youth. He was physically ugly and he was a man of suffering (Isaiah chapter 53 KJV). "Seek the face of Jacob" (plain looking).

    ↪Bartricks

God's ability to do anything is a function of time. Does he have unlimited resources and it is quite apparent he hasn't perfected our lives yet. Existence is evil while God is not evil.

  • Should we neuter dogs - animal rights issue?
    ↪neilldn74

i edited this. Something to consider is domesticated creatures tend to reproduce more than wild and non-domesticated plants and animals. That dog's mother or grandmother would have died more than likely if a human didn't care for it. Wheat and Dogs are what they are due to People. Have you heard of Noah Harrari? I reject Harrari on some levels because he seems to reject constitutiive micro-psychism and panenpsyschism.

edit: by panenpsychism i meant panentheism which is different from pantheism.

as far as i know the computers built in the 1950s used all equations and concepts developed prior to the 20th century. This is a common misconception about modern technology. Most of modern technology can be built with equations that predate Einstein. Please correct me if i'm wrong. As each generation passes each technology is refined. The future began in 2000 c.e. . Flying cars were possible at the time of September 11th but September 11th pretty much showed us why average People shouldn't have Airplane licenses or flying cars. The difference between a flying car and an airplane is a flying car is supposed to be easier and more accessible to the average person. I'm not against poor People getting Pilot licenses and that was not the intent of what i'm saying.

To limit confusion the 19th century was the 1800s.

I'm not against nuclear power but you don't need nuclear power for automobiles, computers and rockets. Einstein largely contributed to the rise of Nuclear power.

i agree. The first commandment doesn't say we can't have other gods other than the new testament god. The old testament god is the new testament god according to the sermon on the mount. A careful reading of the sermon on the mount and the book of Exodus (KJV) would reveal this.

  • 50 big mistakes/chances to write someone off as a bad egg
I subscribe to a particular Holy Book that basically says we should give someone 10000 big/enormous chances/mistakes before we write them off as a bad egg. A bad egg in my opinion is someone who doesn't ever evaluate themselves.

But that Holy Book aside, i don't really think we should ever write someone off completely until they've screwed us 50 or so big times. I believe much of a person's behaviour has to due with what they know, what they were willing to learn based on how much positive emotion they've encountered throughout the course of their life, and also how much positive emotion they've had in our short time with them.

A person's real worth cannot be properly counted up until after they are dead and there is no future works.

Self-doubt more often than not equals success.

Lets avoid self-doubt if we are able too.

Those who suffer the most and who have had the most guilt are very often the winners.

    Have a great week ya'll!

People are in general naturally bad. Good is an extremely complex equation. Good in some cases getting rid of all your money and stuff and being homeless. This is why it is easier for some one not married to be good. Life extremely complex.

I've notice fiscal conservatism (a good thing) generally isn't shot down but Christians as opposed to other religions are not allowed to preach. Other religions are allowed to preach all the time. How do you define preaching? Judgement is a spectrum and most People judge others on some level. The new testament actually does not say not to make judgements on others. Judgement is a spectrum. Do you need me to explain why?

i was too lazy to read the whole thing. I'll read the whole thing in 2 to 3 hours. I read the last 2 paragraphs and the OP's topic is on point. The concept is counter-intuitive and intuitive depending on the person. One thing though assuming you didn't mention this. Mathematics and even Physical force is neccesary in some cases and any one who wants to learn mathematics can obtain that goal through self-doubt or even self-hatred. The only way to be happy is to miss details.

without typing 10 paragraphs Christians at one point in time lined up with Daoists on many levels. Based on what i know Daoism is missing human sacrifice as in "a living sacrifice" as well as the initial human sacrifice ~2000 years ago.

I didn't want to look it up but what is Scylla?

Daoism is a spectrum just as proper Christian ethics is a spectrum.

I can see now this OP might get removed but People get tired of over-vague statements.

Do Gay men wear clothes? Can a prostitue wear clothes and cover herself up? Are these 2 sets of People capable of talking about things other than sex?

Short and huge oversimplification is that at this point in time i would have to say you are wrong.

Are you familiar with David and Jonathan. I assume you are a Christian?
