Looks like creativesoul is chickening out :joke: so if no one else shows up just make your move.

It would have been good to castle around this point in the game, if not sooner.

    4fpitq0iu3acw.png

Might have had some powerful pieces aimed at my king, if that makes sense.

Incidentally, it appeared as though you were trying some kind of flanking strategy. That might be a good maneuver on a battlefield but in chess it's best to try controlling the middle of the board.

So the winner of the pawn game will be whomever has the most pawns whenever someone is checkmated?

Not checkmate because you can still move the pawn in front of the queen, but it would be mate in my next move by taking the pawn, so game over.

FYI, if you would have queenside castled you might have been in a position to attack with both rooks, your bishop and queen, and your king would have been better protected.

Sorry for the delay, I was having technical issues. Check.

Oddly, in the board image generator I had to drag your pawn off the board before the bishop could occupy the square, FYI.

The Polish opening, it's like a Polish dog, except without the ketchup, mustard, bun, sausage, sauerkraut, and has nothing to do with chess.

I'm game for another, and I found a board generator that works a little better. It generates an image with a link back, so we could just click on the image to go back to the generator, but the link doesn't work for some reason. Something to do with how the forum code handles images, I guess. No way to have images with hyperlinks. Anyway, it's still easier to just paste the link twice and replace [image]http://www.chessvideos.tv/bimg/31xc4mujc5c0g.png[/image] with Your move in the second link.

Checkmate. Bishop has king in check and queen has all escapes covered (even though you're attacking queen).

You played well for not knowing the game.

You can't move your king into check (my queen is in a direct diagonal line to your king). Your king can only take the pawn on a5 or move kc4. The only other option is taking the pawn en passant.

The queen can move diagonally, yes. I had your king in check but the wily fellow managed to get away.

No, because you're attacking the queen. My king is safe and sound in the castle.
